H\u00e1 um foco crescente na promo\u00e7\u00e3o de viagens ativas, que representam menos de 2% do tr\u00e1fego que entra nos centros metropolitanos durante o pico da manh\u00e3. Durante a pandemia, a TfWM recebeu \u00a3 16,85 milh\u00f5es como parte do fundo de emerg\u00eancia para viagens ativas do governo do Reino Unido para construir infraestrutura dedicada para caminhadas e ciclismo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quais s\u00e3o os aspectos \u00fanicos de uma regi\u00e3o no projecto PHOEBE?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ao contr\u00e1rio de outros locais de casos de uso, West Midlands \u00e9 uma autoridade combinada composta por v\u00e1rias vilas e cidades. Cada autoridade local ter\u00e1 a sua pr\u00f3pria perspectiva e prioridades no que diz respeito aos transportes, decorrentes dos diferentes n\u00edveis constituintes das \u00e1reas rurais e urbanas dentro de cada uma. Muitas das regi\u00f5es apresentam elevados graus de priva\u00e7\u00e3o urbana e um elevado crescimento populacional, criando novos desafios para a mobilidade segura dos cidad\u00e3os.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quais s\u00e3o os desafios de seguran\u00e7a rodovi\u00e1ria de West Midlands?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A meta de West Midlands \u00e9 uma redu\u00e7\u00e3o de 40% de ferimentos graves e mortes (KSI) at\u00e9 2028, o que exige uma redu\u00e7\u00e3o de uma m\u00e9dia de 1.048 acidentes deste tipo em 2017 para 629 nos pr\u00f3ximos cinco anos. No entanto, a regi\u00e3o enfrenta v\u00e1rios desafios para alcan\u00e7ar estradas mais seguras, tais como uma prolifera\u00e7\u00e3o generalizada de solu\u00e7\u00f5es de mobilidade el\u00e9trica, mais ve\u00edculos que utilizam tecnologias conectadas e aut\u00f3nomas e n\u00edveis crescentes de viagens ativas. Em 2017, 64% de usu\u00e1rios das estradas KSI em West Midlands eram pedestres, ciclistas ou motociclistas. Existe o perigo de que o objectivo da regi\u00e3o de reduzir a depend\u00eancia do autom\u00f3vel e aumentar a propor\u00e7\u00e3o de viagens activas conduza a um aumento no n\u00famero global de pessoas KSI num ambiente onde o n\u00edvel de risco subjacente permanece o mesmo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Como podem West Midlands apoiar as outras cidades-piloto e vice-versa?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nossa regi\u00e3o \u00e9 uma \u00e1rea grande com uma grande variedade de diferentes cen\u00e1rios de risco rodovi\u00e1rio.
