Ltd<\/a>. in JV with <a href=\"http:\/\/crridom.gov.in\/\">Central Road Research Institute (CRRI)<\/a> will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct iRAP <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/rap-tools\/infrastructure-ratings\/star-ratings\/\">Star Rating<\/a> assessments of selected roads with supporting data collection and the preparation of Star Ratings and Safer Roads Investment Plans (<a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/rap-tools\/investment-planning\/safer-roads-investment-plans\/\">SRIP<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Conduct a detailed Road Safety Audit of approximately 9,531km of State Highways and Major District Roads under the CRN<\/li>\n<li>Review road safety audits carried out earlier by the Planning and Roads Asset Management Centre and under KSHIP- II for approximately 379km and 327km respectively.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct an iRAP risk assessment of approximately 10,237km of State Highways and Major District Roads<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/star-rating-for-designs\/\">Star Rating of Designs<\/a> to improve identified crash-prone locations for about 1,500km.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct a workshop to disseminate the results<\/li>\n<li>Conduct Training on Road Safety Audit, iRAP, Star Rating and SRIP outputs to strengthen institutional capacity and efficiency in <a href=\"https:\/\/idd.karnataka.gov.in\/english\">Karnataka Public Works, Ports, and Inland Water Transport Department (KPWD)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Roads under study in the project will include:<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/KSHIP-Roads-Map.jpeg&#8221; title_text=&#8221;KSHIP Roads Map&#8221; align=&#8221;center&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.19.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.19.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>Similar activities will be undertaken on 7,244km of South and Central Zone roads by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.feedbackinfra.com\/\">Feedback Infra Pvt. Ltd.<\/a> in JV with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.padeco.co.jp\/en\/\">Padeco Co. Ltd.<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/tpfepl.com\/\">TPF Engineering Pvt. Ltd.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Karnataka State Highways Improvement Project (KSHIP) commenced in 2001 as the first major initiative of the <a href=\"https:\/\/kpwd.karnataka.gov.in\/english\">Public Works Department of Government of Karnataka<\/a> to improve state roads and highways in collaboration with external partners.<\/p>\n<p>iRAP has been involved with the project since 2011\/2012 when phase two &#8211; the Karnataka State Highways Improvement Project-II (KSHIP-II) &#8211; commenced.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/2013\/04\/kship-and-world-bank-joint-winners-of-star-performer-award\/\">An iRAP 5-Star Performer Award was presented to the KSHIP Programme and World Bank in 2013<\/a> for iRAP assessments and capacity building to ensure that safety was built-in to designs for new roads and major upgrades, prior to construction.
