Um ambicioso conjunto de projetos de desenvolvimento de infraestrutura n\u00e3o est\u00e1 apenas alterando a paisagem f\u00edsica da cidade; eles tamb\u00e9m est\u00e3o inaugurando uma nova era de crescimento econ\u00f4mico, melhoria na qualidade de vida e maior conectividade para os moradores da cidade. No entanto, o sistema de transporte de Dodoma precisa urgentemente de melhorias. Mais de 80% das estradas da cidade ainda n\u00e3o s\u00e3o pavimentadas, tornando dif\u00edcil o deslocamento confi\u00e1vel dos moradores. \u00c9 necess\u00e1ria uma infraestrutura rodovi\u00e1ria resiliente para reduzir a vulnerabilidade aos impactos clim\u00e1ticos.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/projects.worldbank.org\/en\/projects-operations\/project-detail\/P176623\">Projeto Dodoma de Transporte Integrado e Sustent\u00e1vel (DIST)<\/a> realizar\u00e1 a melhoria de quatro estradas arteriais que conectam o centro de Dodoma a outras partes do pa\u00eds ao padr\u00e3o internacional 3 estrelas ou superior do iRAP. Essas estradas, que atualmente t\u00eam duas faixas, ser\u00e3o expandidas para incluir espa\u00e7os separados para diferentes usu\u00e1rios da via \u2013 carros, \u00f4nibus, pedestres e ciclistas.<\/p>\n<p>Cinco metros de espa\u00e7o ser\u00e3o alocados em cada lado das estradas para caminhada e ciclismo, com recursos como guias rebaixadas e pavimentos texturizados para ajudar pessoas com defici\u00eancia a transitarem com seguran\u00e7a.<\/p>\n<p>O projeto adicionar\u00e1 ciclovias e cal\u00e7adas, ilumina\u00e7\u00e3o, melhorias de seguran\u00e7a em \u00e1reas propensas a acidentes, travessias dedicadas, elementos para redu\u00e7\u00e3o de velocidade em cruzamentos, drenagem e nova pavimenta\u00e7\u00e3o onde necess\u00e1rio. Ele preencher\u00e1 lacunas na rede atual, conectando ruas, parques e \u00e1reas verdes.<\/p>\n<p>O projeto incluir\u00e1 dois componentes: a cria\u00e7\u00e3o de 45,1 km de corredores multimodais e uma rede de 60 km para pedestres e ciclistas, resistente \u00e0s mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas. Ele beneficiar\u00e1 mais de 430.000 residentes (mais da metade da popula\u00e7\u00e3o da cidade \u2013 incluindo 222.000 mulheres e 81.700 jovens) e abrir\u00e1 oportunidades econ\u00f4micas com a cria\u00e7\u00e3o de mais de 10.000 novos empregos at\u00e9 2030, ao mesmo tempo em que impulsionar\u00e1 a produ\u00e7\u00e3o econ\u00f4mica da cidade em 2%.<\/p>\n<p>Em 2016, o Governo da Tanz\u00e2nia renovou seu compromisso com a decis\u00e3o de 1973 de transferir a capital nacional de Dar es Salaam para Dodoma. Isso implicou um investimento de capital significativo e a realoca\u00e7\u00e3o de ag\u00eancias e departamentos governamentais para Dodoma. Desde ent\u00e3o, a mudan\u00e7a impulsionou um crescimento r\u00e1pido.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA r\u00e1pida expans\u00e3o de Dodoma desde 2016 apresenta tanto oportunidades quanto desafios\u201d, disse Nathan Belete, Diretor de Divis\u00e3o do Banco Mundial para Malau\u00ed, Tanz\u00e2nia, Z\u00e2mbia e Zimb\u00e1bue. \u201cCom o crescimento da cidade, garantir o acesso a transporte seguro e eficiente \u00e9 crucial para sustentar seu \u00edmpeto econ\u00f4mico e melhorar a qualidade de vida de seus residentes. Este projeto ajudar\u00e1 Dodoma a crescer de forma mais sustent\u00e1vel, garantindo que a infraestrutura acompanhe as ambi\u00e7\u00f5es da cidade.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbordar os desafios da mobilidade urbana desde cedo \u00e9 fundamental para garantir o crescimento sustent\u00e1vel e inclusivo da nova capital e evitar o crescimento desordenado e a expans\u00e3o urbana\u201d, disse Adam Diehl, Especialista S\u00eanior de Transportes do Banco Mundial e L\u00edder da Equipe. \u201cComo um setor com muitas ag\u00eancias governamentais, minist\u00e9rios e atores do setor privado respons\u00e1veis, trazer um planejamento e desenvolvimento hol\u00edstico da mobilidade urbana \u00e9 fundamental para desbloquear uma cidade mais vibrante e economicamente din\u00e2mica.
