{"id":5348,"date":"2025-02-17T19:58:11","date_gmt":"2025-02-17T08:58:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.temp.irap-dev.org\/himachal-pradesh-road-and-infrastructure-development-corporation-recognised-as-a-shining-star-in-coveted-international-gary-liddle-memorial-award-program\/"},"modified":"2026-05-05T11:24:38","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T01:24:38","slug":"himachal-pradesh-road-and-infrastructure-development-corporation-recognised-as-a-shining-star-in-coveted-international-gary-liddle-memorial-award-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irap.org\/pt\/himachal-pradesh-road-and-infrastructure-development-corporation-recognised-as-a-shining-star-in-coveted-international-gary-liddle-memorial-award-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Himachal Pradesh Road and Infrastructure Development Corporation reconhecida como uma Estrela Brilhante no cobi\u00e7ado Programa Internacional de Pr\u00e9mios Gary Liddle Memorial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/pt\/\">International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP)<\/a> has proudly announced India\u2019s Himachal Pradesh Road and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HPRIDCL) as a \u201cShining Star\u201d in the 2024 iRAP Gary Liddle Memorial Trophy in Marrakech today, presented to the world\u2019s best performing road authority\/s eliminating high-risk roads.<\/p>\n<p>Apresentado durante o <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/pt\/2025\/01\/mark-your-diaries-ten-steps-to-2030-for-safer-road-infrastructure-event-marrakech\/\"><em>Dez Passos para 2030 para um Evento Paralelo de Infraestrutura Rodovi\u00e1ria Mais Segura<\/em><\/a> do <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roadsafetymorocco.com\/\">4\u00aa Confer\u00eancia Ministerial Global sobre Seguran\u00e7a Vi\u00e1ria<\/a>, o Trof\u00e9u iRAP, de car\u00e1ter perp\u00e9tuo, homenageia a contribui\u00e7\u00e3o ao longo de toda a vida do ex-presidente do Conselho da institui\u00e7\u00e3o de caridade para o setor p\u00fablico e os transportes <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/pt\/2023\/03\/vale-gary-liddle-ao\/\">Gary Liddle AO<\/a> quem faleceu em 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Road crash data from 2018 to 2022, published by the Government of India, shows a 17 per cent decline in the number of road fatalities recorded in the state of Himachal Pradesh.<\/p>\n<p>HPRIDCL leveraged iRAP tools, including Star Ratings and Safer Roads Investment Plans, to assess over 7,000 kilometres of state roads, identifying high-risk corridors and informing a five-year action plan for prioritized safety improvements across 16 critical corridors.<\/p>\n<p>With the support of co-funding from the World Bank and the state government, they rolled out a series of comprehensive road safety initiatives, including infrastructure upgrades, engineering interventions, implementation of HP-RADMS for crash data collection, AI-based traffic enforcement, training of more than 5,000 engineers and police, and community-driven programs.<\/p>\n<p>HPRIDCL\u2019s road safety initiatives reflect a holistic, collaborative effort working closely with the World Bank, TRL, Himachal Pradesh Police, the Public Works Department, local agencies, and community volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>In presenting the award, iRAP Global Program Director and Acting CEO Greg Smith said, \u201cThe Himachal Pradesh Road and Infrastructure Development Corporation was awarded a \u201cshining star\u201d for its exceptional leadership in leveraging iRAP methodologies to significantly enhance road safety and save lives across the state. The authority has achieved impressive scale and success in delivering road upgrades using a holistic evidence-based road safety action plan with life-saving impact. Their approach is well prioritised, with a long-term commitment to funding, strong outreach to local stakeholders, capacity building, and use of advanced technologies for road safety. A significant reduction in crashes has been achieved, especially on critical state corridors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The initiatives undertaken by HPRIDCL provide a replicable model for other states and regions, particularly in development contexts and mountainous locations.<\/p>\n<p>The iRAP Gary Liddle Memorial Trophy was presented to one winner and four finalists during the <em>Dez Passos para 2030 para Infraestrutura Rodovi\u00e1ria Mais Segura Evento<\/em>, a Side Event of the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety on 17 February 2025.
