{"id":5121,"date":"2024-11-04T03:15:23","date_gmt":"2024-11-03T16:15:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.temp.irap-dev.org\/brazilrap-sao-paulo-2030-plan-released\/"},"modified":"2026-04-30T14:53:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T04:53:11","slug":"brazilrap-sao-paulo-2030-plan-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irap.org\/pt\/brazilrap-sao-paulo-2030-plan-released\/","title":{"rendered":"BrazilRAP Sao Paulo 2030 Plan released"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following the launch of BrazilRAP S\u00e3o Paulo in May, programme lead <a href=\"https:\/\/www.der.sp.gov.br\/\">Department of Highways (DER-SP)<\/a> has released its 2024-2030 Plan which aims to halve the state\u2019s road traffic fatalities supported by use of the iRAP methodology and tools to eliminate high-risk roads for all road users.<\/p>\n<p>The plan aims to evaluate road infrastructure safety performance according to the iRAP methodology, identify and prioritise improvement of high-risk 1 and 2-star road sections, ensure new and rehabilitated motorways reach a minimum 3-star safety rating, and develop a web platform to monitor road conditions according to iRAP.<\/p>\n<p>The plan consists of five stages, including road risk identification, road safety assessment to inform investment in prioritised, evidence-based countermeasures to improve safety, implementation, performance monitoring and dissemination of results.<\/p>\n<p>Improving the road safety of vulnerable road users and the promotion of participation of active modes of mobility (walking and cycling) are also key.<\/p>\n<p>The Plan represents the first road safety manual produced by the DER-SP and is an important milestone in the evolution and improvement of the road safety on S\u00e3o Paulo\u2019s state motorways.<\/p>\n<p>BrazilRAP S\u00e3o Paulo is the first partnership of its kind signed by a state government (in Brazil and the world).
