After 8 years voluntary service as a charity Trustee, iRAP welcomes Miquel Nadal as the new Chairman of the Board.<\/p>\n

Miquel brings to the position extensive road safety and mobility experience at the global level as current Secretary of the FIA High Level Panel for Road Safety and Trustee and Chairman of the Programmes Committee of the FIA Foundation since 2014\/15. Prior to this, he was Director of the RACC Mobility Club in Spain for more than 11 years and was a key leader in the initial development of the Road Assessment Programme protocols at the turn of the century.<\/p>\n

\u201cI look forward to leading the charity during the Second\u00a0Decade of Action for Road Safety to ensure we are well governed and mobilise the partnerships for 2030 impact that ensure it is a decade of delivery and results.\u00a0 Working with the Trustees, iRAP team and partners worldwide we will scale impact through priority initiatives that include AiRAP<\/a>, Avalia\u00e7\u00e3o por estrelas para designs<\/a>, CycleRAP<\/a> e Impact Investment<\/a> initiatives that will mobilise the public, private and philanthropic finance that will unlock the social and economic benefits of safer roads,\u201d Miquel said.<\/p>\n

Miquel is an economist with significant experience in Public Private Partnerships, mobility and transport with a focus on road safety, international diplomacy and senior management, both in government and the private sector. Between 1991 and 2002 he worked for the Spanish Government, in the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Energy and as Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n

In recent years, Miquel has been integrally involved in iRAP partnerships for social impact investment, identifying and designing new sources of road safety investment and helping private companies contribute to the SDGs and unlock the \u2018win-win-win\u2019 of results-based financing of 3-, 4- and 5-star highways and city streets that save lives.<\/p>\n

iRAP CEO Rob McInerney said, \u201cMiquel has been a figurehead of global road safety action, shaping the innovative game-changing initiatives that will truly transform life-saving action worldwide.\u00a0 His perspectives and passion on how to connect the beneficiaries of road trauma reduction with the solutions will be key to ensuring the 2030 targets to halve road deaths and injuries are met.\u00a0 We thank Miquel for his great contributions already and look forward to his leadership of iRAP in the years ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n
