{"id":2912,"date":"2021-11-11T05:07:23","date_gmt":"2021-11-10T18:07:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.temp.irap-dev.org\/irap-is-proud-to-support-wdor21-remember-support-act\/"},"modified":"2026-04-30T12:38:16","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T02:38:16","slug":"irap-is-proud-to-support-wdor21-remember-support-act","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irap.org\/pt\/irap-is-proud-to-support-wdor21-remember-support-act\/","title":{"rendered":"A iRAP tem o orgulho de apoiar a campanha #WDoR21: Lembre-se \u2013 Apoie \u2013 Aja"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On Sunday 21 November, <a href=\"https:\/\/worlddayofremembrance.org\/#top\">World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims 2021 (WDoR21)<\/a> will put the spotlight on the reduction of traffic speeds \u2013 low speeds, which have the potential to prevent many deaths and serious injuries, in particular those of pedestrians and all other vulnerable road users \u2013 children, elderly and the disabled.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>As with every year, iRAP supports this important day as we pause to #RememberSupportAct for low speed streets that protect and save lives.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/vdxccxwDoS4\">Assistir v\u00eddeo<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A number of\u00a0events will be taking place\u00a0in the lead up to and during #WDoR2021, including on November 18, join GRSF for a webinar on the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roadsafetyfacility.org\/events\/webinar-world-day-remembrance-road-traffic-victims\">roadsafetyfacility.org\/events\/webinar-world-day-remembrance-road-traffic-victims<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Access more events on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worlddayofremembrance.org\/events\/\">WDoR\u00a0website.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The objectives of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worlddayofremembrance.org\/#top\">WDoR 2021\u00a0<\/a>are to provide a platform for road traffic victims and their families to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>remember all people killed and seriously injured on the roads;<\/li>\n<li>acknowledge the crucial work of the emergency services;<\/li>\n<li>draw attention to the generally trivial legal response to culpable road deaths and injuries;<\/li>\n<li>advocate for better support for road traffic victims and victim families;<\/li>\n<li>promote evidence-based actions to prevent and eventually stop further road traffic deaths and injuries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #35809f;\"><strong>Theme: ACT for Low Speed Streets<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Low speed streets save lives.<\/strong> Road traffic crashes kill 1.35 million every year and tens of millions more are injured. These deaths and injuries are preventable 30km\/h speed protects road users and reduce loss of life.<\/p>\n<p>Watch these stories from the #RAPCommunity around the world calling for 30km\/h to be the new normal in their city. The videos, produced for the UNGRSW 2021 in partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roadsafetyngos.org\/\">the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety<\/a>, showcase members\u2019 experiences in their communities and call for 30km\/hr speed limits to reduce local road risk.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLHvmb0u-QB0zAWFNY5B5ObB6je1uMyfku\">Assistir v\u00eddeo<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As we enter the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/teams\/social-determinants-of-health\/safety-and-mobility\/decade-of-action-for-road-safety-2021-2030\">Second Decade of Action for Road Safety<\/a>, the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims will continue to play an important part in highlighting the very reason for all the necessary actions outlined in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.who.int\/media\/docs\/default-source\/documents\/health-topics\/road-traffic-injuries\/global-plan-for-road-safety.pdf?sfvrsn=65cf34c8_27&amp;download=true\">Plano Global<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>With the donor support of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fiafoundation.org\/\">Funda\u00e7\u00e3o FIA<\/a>, iRAP will work with partners worldwide to make sure new roads are safe and high-risk existing roads are financed and improved on a scale that matters.
