In addition, it provides an objective assessment of the probability of a crash and its severity.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, UN member states, including the Russian Federation, agreed on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/resources.irap.org\/General\/12_UN_Global_Road_Safety_Targets.pdf\">12 Global Road Safety Performance Targets<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Among the main indicators by 2030,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/pt\/2018\/04\/targets-3-4-what-they-mean-for-safer-roads-globally\/\">Targets 3 and 4<\/a>\u00a0aim for all new roads be built in accordance with the 3-star standard or higher for all road users, as well as for more than 75% of travel to be on roads equivalent to the 3-star or higher global standard for all road users.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement of these targets, along with the 2nd UN Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030, underscores the success of this methodology in world practice. Training and implementation of the IRAP programme is an important element in the field of road safety in Russia.<\/p>\n<p>Rob McInerney, Chief Executive Officer of iRAP said, \u201cFor the first time a company from Russia has achieved iRAP accreditation, and we are glad to welcome the GLONASS BDD company to the iRAP global partner and supplier network. Every day our international team is working to make the roads safer and we believe that the Russian team will also make a great contribution using all the iRAP protocols.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>iRAP programmes and projects have been implemented in more than 100 countries. More than 1,400,000 km of roads have been risk mapped, and more than 1,000,000 km of roads have been star rated with associated safer road investment plans.<\/p>\n<p>In Russia to date, 1,250km have been star rated and USD$25 million of infrastructure investment has been made safer informed by the iRAP methodology.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rostec.ru\/news\/glonass-bdd-sovershenstvuet-metodologiyu-bezopasnosti-dorozhnogo-dvizheniya\/\">rostec.ru\/news\/glonass-bdd-sovershenstvuet-metodologiyu-bezopasnosti-dorozhnogo-dvizheniya\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>About GLONASS BDD:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/glonass-bdd.ru\/\">GLONASS BDD<\/a>\u00a0develops and implements intelligent transport systems using the GLONASS infrastructure.\u00a0Their goal is to increase traffic safety, as well as reduce crashes and deaths on Russian roads.\u00a0<em>GLONASS<\/em>\u00a0or \u201cGLObal NAvigation Satellite System\u201d, is a space-based satellite navigation system operating as part of a radio navigation satellite service.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About iRAP Accreditation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>iRAP accreditation helps ensure that iRAP assessments are performed to the same consistently high level of quality worldwide. Consultants that are accredited can become part of a market of suppliers that are able to bid competitively to provide iRAP-specification services.
