Um total de 10.042 acidentes rodovi\u00e1rios foi registrado em Bengala Ocidental em 2018. A gravidade dos acidentes foi de 53,91 TP8T, em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com a m\u00e9dia nacional de 32,41 TP8T. Quase um quarto dos acidentes ocorreu em rodovias estaduais.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">O Departamento de Obras P\u00fablicas (<a href=\"http:\/\/wbpwd.gov.in\/\">PWD<\/a>) do Governo de Bengala Ocidental \u00e9 respons\u00e1vel pelo desenvolvimento, manuten\u00e7\u00e3o e opera\u00e7\u00e3o da maioria da rede rodovi\u00e1ria do Estado. Para garantir viagens seguras e o tratamento de locais de alto risco, o PWD contrata especialistas em seguran\u00e7a rodovi\u00e1ria para realizar auditorias de seguran\u00e7a rodovi\u00e1ria da rede. Colaborou com o <a href=\"http:\/\/iitkgp.ac.in\/\">Instituto Indiano de Tecnologia Kharagpur<\/a> (IITKGP) para avaliar as cinco rodovias.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O IndiaRAP apoiou o projeto, treinando a equipe do IIT Kharagpur para realizar pesquisas rodovi\u00e1rias, codifica\u00e7\u00e3o e processamento de dados para seu cliente, o PWD de Bengala Ocidental. Tamb\u00e9m forneceu an\u00e1lise de qualidade e relat\u00f3rios do trabalho conclu\u00eddo pelo IIT.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/West-Bengal-training-2.png\" alt=\"West Bengal training 2\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Uma equipe de pesquisadores e estudantes do IIT KGP foi treinada pela IndiaRAP<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Os resultados da Avalia\u00e7\u00e3o de Classifica\u00e7\u00e3o por Estrelas de Refer\u00eancia demonstram o potencial para melhorar a seguran\u00e7a da infraestrutura vi\u00e1ria para todos os usu\u00e1rios das vias, especialmente para os mais vulner\u00e1veis. As classifica\u00e7\u00f5es por estrelas indicam que, para pedestres, apenas 6% da rede recebeu classifica\u00e7\u00e3o de 3 estrelas ou mais; para ciclistas, 17%; e para motociclistas, 38%. 56% do comprimento das vias recebeu classifica\u00e7\u00e3o de 3 estrelas ou mais para os ocupantes de ve\u00edculos.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/West-Bengal-Star-Rating1-Ped.png\" alt=\"West-Bengal-Star-Rating1-Ped\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Foram identificadas contramedidas de seguran\u00e7a eficazes em termos de custo para melhorar as Classifica\u00e7\u00f5es Estelares para todos os grupos de usu\u00e1rios da via.
