As we come to the end of 2025, on behalf of the iRAP Board, I would like to share an update on the executive leadership arrangements for the charity with you and all our valued partners worldwide.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Earlier in the year, Rob McInerney temporarily stepped back from his full-time duties as CEO for family reasons, and the Board announced the appointment of Greg Smith as iRAP CEO for the period.<\/p>\n
Following a review of the relevant circumstances, the Board has agreed that these arrangements will be made permanent. As such, I am pleased to confirm Greg Smith in the role of iRAP CEO, and Rob McInerney in the role of Chief of Future Impact.<\/p>\n
With more than 20 years of iRAP experience, Greg is a leader known for his ability to inspire, empower and energise the team and partners worldwide. Greg has been a central part of iRAP\u2019s positive impact over many years through his national, regional and global programme and strategic project leadership roles.\u00a0 Greg brings a unique blend of engineering and public policy skills and experience to the role and the Board has full confidence in his ability to lead iRAP forward in our lifesaving work.<\/p>\n
Rob will continue supporting the charity\u2019s vision as iRAP\u2019s Chief of Future Impact. This includes building long term partnerships with organisations in the development and financing of infrastructure for sustainable transport and the use of artificial intelligence and AiRAP to grow the charity\u2019s road safety impact globally. Rob will be working to maximise the safe and sustainable mobility outcomes and legacy of major events such as the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games in his home town.<\/p>\n
Additionally,\u00a0after\u00a0more than 15 years of service, Shona Holroyd has announced that she will retire as CFO from iRAP at the end of March 2026. She will also retire from her roles with the Road Safety Foundation (RSF) and the European Institute of Road Assessment (EIRA).<\/p>\n
Shona has made an incredible contribution to the charity, fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and confidence, and with her financial, governance and human resources leadership the impact of these organisations has grown tremendously. The iRAP Board is deeply thankful for Shona\u2019s commitment to iRAP and our partner\u2019s work to make roads safe.<\/p>\n
I am pleased to announce that after an internal recruitment process,\u00a0Helen Noble\u00a0will take on the role of CFO of iRAP beginning in April 2026, along with roles with RSF and EIRA.<\/p>\n
Helen is a qualified chartered accountant with more than 25 years\u2019 experience. Helen has worked with iRAP for 5 years and has an in-depth knowledge of all financial aspects of the organisation, as well as a passion and love for iRAP\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n
We congratulate Greg, Rob and Helen on their roles and look forward to continuing our crucial life-saving work in 2026 with you all to create a world free of high-risk roads.\u00a0<\/p>\n
