{"id":6155,"date":"2026-01-07T05:12:50","date_gmt":"2026-01-06T18:12:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.temp.irap-dev.org\/new-zealands-highest-risk-highways-safer\/"},"modified":"2026-04-30T15:10:33","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T05:10:33","slug":"new-zealands-highest-risk-highways-safer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/new-zealands-highest-risk-highways-safer\/","title":{"rendered":"Nieuw-Zeelands gevaarlijkste snelwegen nu veiliger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>De\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aa.co.nz\/about\/aa-research-foundation\/\">AA Onderzoeksfonds<\/a> heeft veiligheidsresultaten ge\u00ebvalueerd, met indrukwekkende resultaten, voor 32 van de gevaarlijkste snelwegen van Nieuw-Zeeland, vergeleken met 20 jaar geleden toen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kiwirap.org.nz\/\">KiwiRAP<\/a> beoordelingen zijn eerst uitgevoerd.<\/p>\n<p>De analyse, opgesteld door <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsp.com\/\">WSP<\/a>, vergeleken ongevalsgegevens voor de periode 2017 \u2013 2023 (met uitzondering van 2020-2021) met pre-beoordelings ongevalsgegevens voor 2002-2006.<\/p>\n<p>De resultaten laten een verbeterde veiligheid zien op de snelwegen met het hoogste risico:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>20 dodelijke ongevallen minder per jaar op de snelwegen, ondanks een toename van het verkeer met ongeveer 50% op die routes.<\/li>\n<li>Een daling van het aantal dodelijke en ernstige ongevallen met gemiddeld meer dan 20% op wegen met een hoog collectief risico, vergeleken met een daling van minder dan 5% op andere landelijke wegen.<\/li>\n<li>Op negen snelwegen daalde het aantal ongevallen met meer dan 50%, terwijl het aantal ongevallen op zes snelwegen juist toenam.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>De\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kiwirap.org.nz\/\">KiwiRAP (Nieuw-Zeelands programma voor wegbeoordeling)<\/a>\u00a0initiatief werd in 2008 ge\u00efntroduceerd als een partnerschap tussen de\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aa.co.nz\/\">NZ Automobielvereniging<\/a>, de\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.transport.govt.nz\/\">Ministerie van Transport<\/a>, de\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nzta.govt.nz\/\">NZ Transport Agentschap<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.acc.co.nz\/\">ACC<\/a>\u00a0en\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.police.govt.nz\/\">NZ Politie<\/a>. Het had tot doel de veiligheid en het aantal ongevallen op de snelwegen van het land te beoordelen om veiligheidsinspanningen en -investeringen te helpen richten om verkeersongevallen te verminderen.<\/p>\n<p>De 35 gevaarlijkste snelwegen van Nieuw-Zeeland zijn ge\u00efdentificeerd, waarvan er 26 in de loop van de tijd aanzienlijke veiligheidsverbeteringen hebben ondergaan.<\/p>\n<p>Dylan Thomsen, Manager Communications, Safety and Research bij AA Transport zei: \u201cHet goede nieuws is dat ja, de veiligheid op de Nieuw-Zeelandse snelwegen dramatisch is verbeterd sinds 20 jaar geleden. We hebben veel meer verkeer, en veel minder ongevallen op onze wegen met het hoogste risico.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tussen 2009 en 2023 werden de grootste veiligheidswinsten wat betreft fatale en ernstige ongevallen waargenomen op:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>State Highway 20b naar de luchthaven van Auckland \u2013 86% afname van het aantal dodelijke en ernstige ongevallen<\/li>\n<li>Staatsweg 2 van Bethlehem naar Mount Maunganui \u2013 vermindering 78%<\/li>\n<li>State Highway 1 in Christchurch \u2013 vermindering van 64%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/NZ-Crash-Analysis-2025-result.png\" alt=\"NZ Crash Analysis 2025 result\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/NZ-Crash-Analysis-2025-result-2.png\" alt=\"NZ Crash Analysis 2025 result 2\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Uit het onderzoek blijkt dat KiwiRAP effectief is gebleken bij:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identificeren van risicovolle weggedeelten waar investeringen in infrastructuur het risico aanzienlijk kunnen verminderen.<\/li>\n<li>Verbeteringsstrategie\u00ebn richten op locaties met een hoog risico om het aantal doden en ernstige verwondingen op de betreffende trajecten met ongeveer 30% te verminderen.<\/li>\n<li>Links identificeren waar geen (of minimale) investering heeft geleid tot een consistent hoog collectief risico.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Nu het aantal verkeersslachtoffers per hoofd van de bevolking in Nieuw-Zeeland op weg is naar het laagste niveau in een eeuw, wijst de AA Research Foundation erop dat de KiwiRAP-strategie, die in de jaren 2000 werd ontwikkeld, de sleutel zou kunnen zijn om dit aantal nog verder te verlagen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe moeten blijven investeren waar de hoogste risico's op ons snelwegennet zich momenteel bevinden.
