{"id":5757,"date":"2025-07-31T13:16:51","date_gmt":"2025-07-31T03:16:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.temp.irap-dev.org\/sustainable-transportation-in-africa-under-the-spotlight-at-icta2025\/"},"modified":"2026-04-30T15:04:18","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T05:04:18","slug":"sustainable-transportation-in-africa-under-the-spotlight-at-icta2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/sustainable-transportation-in-africa-under-the-spotlight-at-icta2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Duurzame Transport in Afrika in de Schijnwerpers op ICTA2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"111\" data-end=\"685\">Verkeersveiligheid stond centraal op het <a href=\"https:\/\/irfofficial.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/ICTA2025-LIBERIA-FINAL-UPDATED-PROGRAM-.pdf\">10e Internationale Conferentie inzake Duurzaam Vervoer in Afrika (ICTA 2025)<\/a> in Liberia, met onze Safer Journeys Lead voor Afrika, Nathalie Chiavassa, die een workshop faciliteerde over Evidence-Based Interventies om Veiliger Wegen voor Iedereen te Verbeteren en te Behouden. .<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"111\" data-end=\"685\">De ICTA2025, die van 21-23 juli plaatsvond onder het thema \u201cVeerkrachtige Transportinfrastructuur en Verbeterde Toegankelijkheid voor Duurzame Ontwikkeling\u201d, bracht 300 afgevaardigden samen, waaronder wegbeheerders, financieringsinstanties, transportconsultants, beleidsmakers en academici, om onderzoek, best practices en strategie\u00ebn te delen voor het opbouwen van duurzame, inclusieve en toekomstbestendige transportsystemen in de regio.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"111\" data-end=\"685\">Er werden een reeks onderwerpen verkend, waaronder verkeersveiligheid en risicobeheer, asset- en wegdekbeheer en -onderhoud, gegevensbewaking en prestaties, levenscycluskostenanalyse, financieringsmechanismen voor publiek-private samenwerking, innovatief ontwerp, transformerende technologie\u00ebn en het beperken van de gevolgen van klimaatverandering.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"687\" data-end=\"1146\">De deelnemers werden door een dynamische iRAP-sessie geleid, gericht op het gebruik van de methodiek en <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/rap-tools\/\">gereedschap<\/a> om te informeren over op bewijs gebaseerde investeringen in de veiligheid van wegeninfrastructuur, en casestudy's van succes in Afrika.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"687\" data-end=\"1146\">\u201cVeiligere wegen ontstaan niet zomaar,\u201d zei Nathalie Chiavassa. \u201cZe zijn het resultaat van weloverwogen investeringen en maatregelen, gebaseerd op feiten en de context. Door de iRAP-methodologie toe te passen en een ontwerp te bevorderen waarbij de gemeenschap wordt betrokken, kunnen we de wereldwijde norm van 3-sterren of beter realiseren voor veiligere wegen voor alle weggebruikers in heel Afrika. Dit is vooral belangrijk voor de meest kwetsbaren: voetgangers, fietsers en motorrijders.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"687\" data-end=\"1146\">\u201cAls VN-doelstelling 4 wordt gehaald \u2013 dat wil zeggen dat tegen 2030 het grootste deel van het verkeer over wegen van 3 sterren of beter plaatsvindt \u2013 zou dit in Afrika naar schatting 98.000 levens per jaar redden en miljoenen extra verwondingen voorkomen, met een economisch voordeel van USD$52,4 miljard per jaar.\u201d.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"687\" data-end=\"1146\">\u201cVeilige, veerkrachtige infrastructuur en de implementatie van het Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety zijn cruciaal voor de duurzame ontwikkeling van Afrika\u201d, voegde ze eraan toe.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1809\" data-end=\"2280\">ICTA 2025 werd gehost door de Global Transportation Professional Networking Group in samenwerking met het Ministerie van Openbare Werken, het Ministerie van Transport, het National Roads Fund, het Road Safety Secretariat en toonaangevende instellingen, waaronder Morgan State University (VS), de Universiteit van Liberia, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (Ghana), TRECK en de International Road Federation (IRF).<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"button\" href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/rap-in-africa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zie de impact van iRAP-partners in Afrika<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/ICTA2025.jpeg\" alt=\"ICTA2025\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/ICTA2025-Nathalie-and-JoceliajaywlohTaplah-_credit-iRAP-2.jpeg\" alt=\"ICTA2025 Nathalie and JoceliajaywlohTaplah _credit iRAP 2\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/ICTA2025-Nathalie-Dr-Oladele-Ayandamadlala_credit-iRAP.jpeg\" alt=\"ICTA2025 Nathalie Dr Oladele Ayandamadlala_credit iRAP\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Nathalie was verheugd om tijdens het evenement de Eerw.
