Hij informeerde discussies over voorgestelde wetgeving die het verplicht zou maken voor werkgevers om deze te verstrekken aan werknemers die motorfietsen gebruiken als onderdeel van hun dagelijkse werk, zoals bezorgers en wagenparkbeheerders.<\/p>\n<p>Volgens <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telenoche.com.uy\/nacionales\/proyecto-plantea-uso-obligatorio-chalecos-airbag-motociclistas-uruguay-n5384522\">gegevens van de Nationale Eenheid voor Verkeersveiligheid (UNASEV)<\/a>, motorrijders vormen 49 procent van de dodelijke slachtoffers bij verkeersongevallen in Uruguay, en 65 procent van de gewonden.<\/p>\n<p>Meneer Azzato presenteerde op 22 mei voor de Kamer van Afgevaardigden en gaf een gedetailleerde technische uitleg van de functionaliteit en veiligheidsvoordelen van motorairbagsystemen:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hij merkte, met verwijzing naar MAPFRE (2021), op dat 24 procent van de dodelijke verwondingen bij motorongelukken de borstkas treft \u2013 niet het hoofd. Hoewel helmen onmisbaar zijn, bieden ze geen volledige lichaamsbescherming.<\/li>\n<li>Motoren missen passieve veiligheidssystemen zoals veiligheidsgordels of ingebouwde airbags en daardoor zijn motorrijders veel kwetsbaarder voor schokkrachten en energieoverdracht bij een ongeval.<\/li>\n<li>Airbagvesten verminderen de vertragingskrachten die op kritieke delen van de romp worden uitgeoefend tijdens een botsing. Door de impact geleidelijker te vertragen, helpen ze trauma aan borst en rug te minimaliseren. Airbagvesten stabiliseren ook de nek in samenwerking met de helm, wat helpt nekletsel te voorkomen.<\/li>\n<li>De implementatie van beschermende vesten kan onmiddellijk resultaten opleveren. De technologie is nu breed beschikbaar en toegankelijk, maar wetgeving moet ook naleving van gecertificeerde productveiligheidsnormen vereisen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Het werk van de heer Azzato bij iRAP vult de ruimte aan met iRAP Sterbeoordelingen die een objectieve maatstaf bieden voor het veiligheidsniveau dat \u2018ingebouwd\u2019 is in de weginfrastructuur voor motorrijders. Een 1-ster weg is het minst veilig, terwijl een 5-ster weg het veiligst is. Als onderdeel van een iRAP-beoordeling kunnen Safer Road Investment Plans worden gegenereerd om specifiek evidence-based infrastructuurverbeteringen te identificeren en te prioriteren om de veiligheid van motorrijders te vergroten.<\/p>\n<p>Specifieke motorrijstroken, de uitlijning van de weg, grip en oppervlaktegevaren, inhaalstroken en gevaren langs de weg zijn allemaal voorbeelden van infrastructuurelementen die de veiligheid kunnen be\u00efnvloeden.<\/p>\n<p>Om meer te weten te komen over het verbeteren van de veiligheid van motorrijders:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bekijk het interactieve rapport van iRAP over gemotoriseerde tweewielers en verkeersveiligheid, waarin gegevens worden opgenomen van bijna 500.000 km aan wegen met een doorstroming van gemotoriseerde tweewielers (PTW's) in meer dan 80 landen.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/2024\/08\/new-data-on-infrastructure-safety-for-powered-two-wheelers-ptw\/\">hier<\/a>.
