Hij gaf input voor discussies over een wetsvoorstel dat werkgevers zou verplichten om deze vesten te verstrekken aan werknemers die dagelijks een motorfiets gebruiken voor hun werk, zoals bezorgers en wagenparkbeheerders.<\/p>\n<p>Volgens <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telenoche.com.uy\/nacionales\/proyecto-plantea-uso-obligatorio-chalecos-airbag-motociclistas-uruguay-n5384522\">Gegevens afkomstig van de Nationale Verkeersveiligheidsdienst (UNASEV).<\/a>, Motorrijders vormen 49 procent van de dodelijke slachtoffers bij verkeersongevallen in Uruguay en 65 procent van de gewonden.<\/p>\n<p>De heer Azzato gaf op 22 mei een presentatie aan de Kamer van Afgevaardigden en een gedetailleerde technische uitleg over de functionaliteit en de veiligheidsvoordelen van airbagsystemen voor motorfietsen:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hij verwees naar MAPFRE (2021) en merkte op dat 24 procent van de dodelijke verwondingen bij motorongelukken de borstkas betreft \u2013 en niet het hoofd. Hoewel helmen onmisbaar zijn, bieden ze geen volledige lichaamsbescherming.<\/li>\n<li>Motorfietsen missen passieve veiligheidssystemen zoals veiligheidsgordels of ingebouwde airbags, waardoor motorrijders veel kwetsbaarder zijn voor impactkrachten en energieoverdracht bij een botsing.<\/li>\n<li>Airbagvesten verminderen de vertragingskrachten die kritieke delen van de romp ondervinden tijdens een botsing. Door de impact geleidelijker af te remmen, helpen ze trauma aan de borst en rug te minimaliseren. Airbagvesten stabiliseren ook de nek in combinatie met de helm, waardoor nekletsel wordt voorkomen.<\/li>\n<li>De inzet van beschermende vesten kan direct resultaat opleveren. De technologie is nu gemakkelijk beschikbaar en toegankelijk, maar wetgeving moet ook naleving van gecertificeerde productveiligheidsnormen vereisen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Het werk van de heer Azzato bij iRAP sluit aan bij de iRAP-sterrenclassificatie, die een objectieve maatstaf biedt voor de mate van veiligheid die inherent is aan de weginfrastructuur voor motorrijders. Een weg met 1 ster is het minst veilig, terwijl een weg met 5 sterren het veiligst is. Als onderdeel van een iRAP-beoordeling kunnen investeringsplannen voor veiligere wegen worden opgesteld om op basis van bewijs specifieke infrastructuurverbeteringen te identificeren en te prioriteren die de veiligheid van motorrijders verhogen.<\/p>\n<p>Speciaal aangelegde motorrijstroken, de wegligging, slipweerstand en gevaren op het wegdek, inhaalmogelijkheden en gevaren langs de weg zijn allemaal voorbeelden van infrastructurele elementen die de veiligheid kunnen be\u00efnvloeden.<\/p>\n<p>Voor meer informatie over het verbeteren van de veiligheid van motorrijders:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bekijk het interactieve rapport van iRAP over de veiligheid van gemotoriseerde tweewielers en de weginfrastructuur.
