Haar overlijden heeft een diepe leegte achtergelaten in de harten van haar dierbaren, maar na haar dood hebben haar familie en vrienden de handen ineengeslagen om hun verdriet om te zetten in actie en meer dan 1.900 Australische dollar (AUD $5.000) ingezameld voor initiatieven ter verbetering van de verkeersveiligheid in het land.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De gelden zijn gedoneerd aan de<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/2022\/09\/tanrap-launched-to-eliminate-high-risk-roads-in-tanzania\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tanzania Road Assessment Programme (TanRAP)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, een initiatief dat gericht is op het aanpakken van risicovolle wegen om verdere tragedies zoals die van Jill te voorkomen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Door gebruik te maken van bekwame auditors die zijn opgeleid in de<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/2023\/12\/ten-step-tanzania-project-receives-prince-michael-international-award\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ten Steps Tanzania Project<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, het Ministerie van Openbare Werken, ondersteund door<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tanroads.go.tz\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, heeft een verkeersveiligheidsaudit uitgevoerd van de plaats van het ongeval en het 57 km lange wegtraject waarop ze om het leven kwam.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De bevindingen hebben locaties met een hoog risico in kaart gebracht en zullen de basis vormen voor gerichte investeringen in infrastructuurverbeteringen, gefinancierd met de fondsen die ter ere van Jill zijn ingezameld.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het fondsenwervingsinitiatief voor TanRAP \u2013<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/101-adventures-for-jill\"> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">101 avonturen voor Jill<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 was heel persoonlijk, uniek leuk en typisch Jill. Om haar leven te vieren, hun verlies te verwerken en anderen te mobiliseren voor verkeersveiligheid in Tanzania, werd een online campagne opgezet door haar vriendinnen Tessa Watkins en Anna Martin. Deelnemers werden uitgenodigd om mee te doen aan een reeks leuke, persoonlijke en uitdagende avonturen, allemaal bedoeld om Jill trots te maken en haar avontuurlijke geest te weerspiegelen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De doelen waren onder andere: $50 opgehaald \u2013 Leren skateboarden; $100 opgehaald \u2013 Een hoge berg beklimmen; $250 opgehaald \u2013 Een &quot;Ja&quot;-dag met de kinderen beleven; $500 opgehaald \u2013 De &quot;Worm&quot;-danspas onder de knie krijgen; en $3000 opgehaald \u2013 Jill-tatoeages laten zetten.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De campagne werd afgesloten op wat Jills 38e verjaardag zou zijn geweest, en de opbrengst werd gedoneerd aan TanRAP, ter ondersteuning van de ontwikkeling in het land waar ze zoveel van hield.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jills vriendin Tessa zei: &quot;We hebben dit gedaan om Jill te eren en de vreugde en inspiratie die ze in ieders leven bracht.
