{"id":5471,"date":"2025-03-11T02:37:24","date_gmt":"2025-03-10T15:37:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.temp.irap-dev.org\/global-alliance-mobility-snapshots-report-ngos-highlight-dangerous-realities-on-our-streets\/"},"modified":"2026-04-30T15:00:14","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T05:00:14","slug":"global-alliance-mobility-snapshots-report-ngos-highlight-dangerous-realities-on-our-streets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/global-alliance-mobility-snapshots-report-ngos-highlight-dangerous-realities-on-our-streets\/","title":{"rendered":"Global Alliance Mobiliteit Snapshots Rapport: NGO's belichten gevaarlijke realiteiten op onze straten"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.roadsafetyngos.org\/events\/ngos-highlight-dangerous-realities-on-our-streets-on-eve-of-ministerial-conference\/\"><em>Original content from the Global Alliance\u00a0<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the lead up to the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety (Ministerial Conference) in Marrakech, Morocco, the Global Alliance of NGO&#8217;s published a new report: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roadsafetyngos.org\/what-we-do\/resources\/publications\/?mc_cid=537d09449a&amp;mc_eid=UNIQID\"><em>Mobility Snapshots: using local data to turn dangerous realities into safe, people-centered streets<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The report draws together 118 \u2018Mobility Snapshots\u2019 from 44 countries, each assessing an intersection by counting the number of pedestrians using it, and whether simple but life-saving interventions such as 30 km\/h speed limits, pedestrian crossings and footpaths, and speed calming are present or lacking.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In total, 156,000 pedestrians used these 118 intersections during peak hour, yet key interventions to protect those who walk are lacking in many:<\/li>\n<li>102 lacked a speed limit of 30 km\/h or lower;<\/li>\n<li>106 lacked usable pedestrian crossings on all legs of the intersection;<\/li>\n<li>67 lacked usable footpaths on all legs of the intersection;<\/li>\n<li>102 lacked traffic calming to reduce vehicle speeds around pedestrians.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>De Mobility Snapshots maakt gebruik van de iRAP Star Rating-methodologie om snapshots te cre\u00ebren \u2013 afbeeldingen en korte videoclips die echte woon-werkverkeer op risicovolle kruispunten in verschillende steden over de hele wereld laten zien.
