V\u00f3\u00f3r zijn overlijden aan ALS in 2023 droegen zijn leiderschap en wijsheid bij aan de groei van de impact van de stichting, waardoor wereldwijd meer dan 400.000 doden en gewonden werden voorkomen door samenwerking met partners. Gary was meer dan 40 jaar actief in de transportsector. Naast zijn steun aan iRAP bekleedde hij in die tijd diverse hoge leidinggevende posities in de Australische wegenbouwsector, waaronder als CEO van VicRoads, adjunct-secretaris van het ministerie van Transport, Planning en Lokale Infrastructuur (Victoria), voorzitter van ARRB, voorzitter van Austroads en voorzitter van iMOVE, bestuurslid van Roads Australia en bestuursfuncties bij zowel PIARC als REAAA. In 2017 werd Gary benoemd tot Officier in de Orde van Australi\u00eb (AO) voor zijn &quot;uitmuntende bijdrage aan het openbaar bestuur in de Victoriaanse transportsector door leiderschap in beleidsvorming, infrastructuurontwikkeling, verkeersveiligheid en hervorming van de regelgeving&quot;. Hij was een sterke en standvastige leider, een genereuze en ondersteunende mentor en een toegewijde voorvechter van verkeersveiligheid. Gezien zijn levenslange bijdrage aan de publieke sector en het transport, eert iRAP Gary&#039;s nalatenschap met de Gary Liddle Memorial Trophy, die jaarlijks wordt uitgereikt. Nominaties staan open voor elke nationale, staats- of lokale wegbeheerder ter wereld die de iRAP-methodologie en\/of -instrumenten heeft gebruikt om hun wegen veiliger te maken en gemeenschappen leefbaarder. Infrastructuurveiligheidsprogramma&#039;s\/activiteiten en bijbehorende evaluaties moeten binnen de laatste 5 jaar zijn afgerond. De prijs erkent de levensreddende impact, leiderschap in bestuur en openbare dienstverlening, relevantie, innovatie, duurzaamheid, samenwerking en overdraagbaarheid naar andere rechtsgebieden.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/irap-gary-liddle-memorial-trophy\/\">https:\/\/irap.org\/irap-gary-liddle-memorial-trophy\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>About the 4<span style=\"font-size: 11.6667px;\">e<\/span>\u00a0Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety<br \/><\/strong>The 4th Global Ministerial Conference of Road Safety is being hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco and World Health Organization (WHO), from 18-20 February 2025, with Side Events from 15-20 February. With the theme #CommitToLife, the Conference and Side Events are bringing together ministers, heads of national road safety agencies, government representatives from road authorities at all levels, as well as representatives from the United Nations, civil society, industry and academia.
