On 28 June, the Horizon EU Urban Public Space Design thematic project cluster, together with <a href=\"https:\/\/netzerocities.eu\/\">NetZeroCities<\/a> En <a href=\"https:\/\/civitas.eu\/\">CIVITAS<\/a> (the platform supporting the mission for 100 cities to become climate neutral by 2030), met for the first time in Brussels to explore synergies.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"B2EFF public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">The Urban Public Space Design thematic cluster groups together the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elaborator-project.eu\/\">UITWERKER<\/a>, AMIGOS and REALLOCATE projects, all funded by the <a class=\"TWoY9 itht3\" href=\"https:\/\/research-and-innovation.ec.europa.eu\/funding\/funding-opportunities\/funding-programmes-and-open-calls\/horizon-europe_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-hook=\"linkViewer\">Horizon EU<\/a> programme under the \u2018Designing inclusive, safe, affordable and sustainable urban mobility\u2019 topic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The key takeaway from the meeting is that in Europe, we are not moving fast enough <span class=\"B2EFF public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">to foster safe, inclusive, accessible and sustainable mobility<\/span>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\">Through the cluster, the projects will join forces and create synergies, rather than carry out work in parallel.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\">It was made clear that the projects can reinforce each other&#8217;s work, creating a greater overall impact in the take-up of innovative solutions &#8211; bringing public deliverables from the shelves to the cities &#8211; both during as well as beyond the projects&#8217; lifetimes.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\">The meeting showcased various presentations on the projects and policy context (such as the <a class=\"TWoY9 itht3\" href=\"https:\/\/commission.europa.eu\/strategy-and-policy\/priorities-2019-2024\/european-green-deal_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-hook=\"linkViewer\">Europese Groene Deal<\/a>, de <a class=\"TWoY9 itht3\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/law\/better-regulation\/have-your-say\/initiatives\/12438-Sustainable-and-Smart-Mobility-Strategy_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-hook=\"linkViewer\">Duurzame en slimme mobiliteitsstrategie<\/a>, and more), as well as deep-dive workshops focused on monitoring and evaluation and the communication and dissemination workstreams.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\">With combined efforts across projects and within them, the aim is to bridge gaps to achieve the best outcome &#8211; namely a future for healthier and happier citizens in climate-neutral urban spaces in Europe.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>For more information on the ELABORATOR project, <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/2023\/06\/a-new-eu-project-is-on-the-horizon-meet-elaborator\/\">klik hier<\/a>.<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/ce76ad_1e78efa1f00c48628f81defc43b80c7emv2.webp\" alt=\"ce76ad_1e78efa1f00c48628f81defc43b80c7e~mv2\" \/><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Inclusive mobility projects for climate-neutral cities in Europe are collaborating for impact.
