Het volgt op het rapport dat eerder dit jaar werd gepubliceerd. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.femamotorcycling.eu\/safer-roads-for-motorcycles\/\">Veiligere wegen voor motorrijders<\/a>, geproduceerd door de Zweedse Motorrijdersvereniging (SMC) en de Europese Federatie van Motorrijdersverenigingen (FEMA). Een rapport dat voortkomt uit de constatering dat het aantal ongevallen met tweewielers in Europa onaanvaardbaar hoog is.<\/p>\n<p>Lees hieronder het fragment uit het artikel, met de focus op het interview met Rob McInerney:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hoe is het sterrenclassificatiesysteem ontstaan en hoe wijdverbreid is het tegenwoordig wereldwijd?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Het Road Assessment Programme (iRAP) werd in 1999 in Europa gelanceerd. Voortbouwend op het succes van EuroNCAP, had ons programma tot doel de intrinsieke veiligheidsprestaties van de weginfrastructuur te meten. Tot op heden is er meer dan 1.500.000 km aan wegen beoordeeld in meer dan 125 landen wereldwijd. En dankzij de iRAP-partnerschappen wereldwijd is meer dan 90 miljard euro aan investeringen in wegen veiliger gemaakt.<\/em>\u2018&#039;. (<a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/about-us\/where-we-work\/\">https:\/\/irap.org\/about-us\/where-we-work\/<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Welke landen zijn het meest actief?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Spanje, het Verenigd Koninkrijk, Kroati\u00eb, Portugal, Brazili\u00eb, Mexico, Colombia, Australi\u00eb, India, China, de Filipijnen en Zuid-Afrika. In elk van deze landen werken gepassioneerde en toegewijde professionals die het belang van veilige infrastructuur voor alle weggebruikers begrijpen. Met behulp van de wereldwijde iRAP-standaard kunnen zij een objectieve, op bewijs gebaseerde meting van de veiligheid van de infrastructuur implementeren. Deze meting is nu door de VN-lidstaten overgenomen als onderdeel van de wereldwijde doelstellingen voor verkeersveiligheid en het actieplan voor het decennium van verkeersveiligheid 2021-2030. Toonaangevende landen hebben over het algemeen als beleidsdoel gesteld dat alle weggebruikers een 3-sterrenbeoordeling of hoger moeten hebben. En zij hebben de iRAP-beoordeling gebruikt om geoptimaliseerde investeringsplannen te ontwikkelen die financiering garanderen voor verbeteringen die levens redden en de kosten van letsel verminderen.<\/em>\u2018&#039;. (<a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/policies-into-practice\/\">https:\/\/irap.org\/policies-into-practice\/<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wat gebeurt er als je je beoordelingen openbaar maakt (vooral als de sterrenbeoordelingen tegenvallen)?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>iRAP richt zich op partnerschappen voor een levensreddende impact. Een van onze motto&#039;s is dat we pas een leven hebben gered als de weg is verbeterd. Elke iRAP-beoordeling omvat een investeringsplan voor veiligere wegen, waarin alle kosteneffectieve maatregelen worden ge\u00efdentificeerd die het aantal geredde levens per ge\u00efnvesteerde euro maximaliseren. Dus zelfs als de bestaande weg een lage sterrenwaardering heeft, ligt alle positieve energie en inspanning op de mogelijkheid tot verbetering. De noodzakelijke investeringen komen vervolgens iedereen ten goede: ze redden levens, besparen geld en cre\u00ebren banen. Het belangrijkste element van het iRAP-programma is...,<\/em>\u2018&#039;McInerney concludeert,&#039;\u2018<em>Een van onze sterke punten is dat we wereldwijd meer dan 25.000 partners met elkaar verbinden.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Aanvullende opmerking: Elk land, elk agentschap en elke partner is anders en we zien zeker uiteenlopende benaderingen en successen. Goede idee\u00ebn en successen uit het ene land kunnen snel met alle partners worden gedeeld om onze kansen te maximaliseren om de SDG- en EU-doelstellingen te bereiken om het aantal verkeersdoden en ernstig gewonden tegen 2030 te halveren en tegen 2050 naar nul te streven.
