Thanks to the Ministry of Transport and Public Works of the Republic of Malawi<\/a> (MTPW), a strategic discussion with iRAP Safer Journeys Lead for Africa Nathalie Chiavassa and Joel Jere, Chairman and Founder of local NGO Road Safety Alert Foundation (RoSAF)<\/a> of Malawi was held last week.<\/p>\n

The meeting was organized to introduce iRAP and ROSAF to the strategic departments within the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, bring awareness of the works of the two civil society organizations, and to build rapport for enhanced collaboration on next steps together on achieving safer roads in Malawi.<\/p>\n

Road Safety is a high concern and priority for the MTPW and the Government of Malawi is placing all its efforts to reduce traffic accidents.<\/p>\n

The MTPW will soon launch its new National Road Safety Strategy during the National Road Safety Day and the meeting participants took this occasion to discuss areas of collaboration in line with the Strategy.<\/p>\n

The three partners will continue discussions on the best ways to contribute to improving Road safety for all users in Malawi, as they prepare for a national event where details of their collaboration will be shared.<\/p>\n

iRAP is pleased to support the MTPW and all their stakeholders in achieving safer roads, promoting safety culture and raising Road Safety investment in Malawi.<\/p>\n
