TanRAP is een van de belangrijkste mijlpalen van de Tien Stappenplan voor Veiligere Weginfrastructuur Project,<\/a> gericht op het opbouwen van institutionele capaciteit in het land en het bijdragen aan de inspanningen van de regering van Tanzania om verkeersongevallen en dodelijke slachtoffers te verminderen, in lijn met het Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021 \u2013 2030.<\/p>\n

Op 14 september 2022 kwamen de financierings- en ondersteunende organisaties van TanRAP in Dar es Salaam bijeen om de start van het project te markeren, onder voorzitterschap van de geachte Atupele Mwakibete, de adjunct-minister (Transport), Ministerie van Werken en Transport. Gezamenlijk gefinancierd door de\u00a0Fonds voor Verkeersveiligheid van de Verenigde Naties (UNRSF)<\/a>\u00a0en door de Buitenlands, Gemenebest- en Ontwikkelingskantoor (UKaid)<\/a>, door de\u00a0Globaal Wegveiligheidsfaciliteit (GRSF)<\/a>\u00a0van de Wereldbank<\/a>, is het Ten Step Plan Tanzania een project van 30 maanden, ontworpen om te voldoen aan de specifieke behoeften van Tanzania en duurzame institutionele capaciteit, impact en partnerschappen op te bouwen. Onder begeleiding van de Economische Commissie van de Verenigde Naties voor Afrika (UNECA)<\/a> het project wordt uitgevoerd door een consortium onder leiding van de Internationale Wegenfederatie (IRF)<\/a>, en bevat het International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP)<\/a>, de Wereld Wegenvereniging (PIARC)<\/a> en de Tanzania Roads Association (TARA)<\/a>. Het project heeft de regering van Tanzania samengebracht via MoWT<\/a>, TANROADS<\/a>, TARURA<\/a>, Nationaal Instituut voor Transport (NIT)<\/a>, en andere toonaangevende instellingen, NGO's en belanghebbenden uit de industrie in Tanzania.\u00a0<\/p>\n
