Deze subsidies, waarmee jaarlijks USD $750.000 wordt uitgekeerd, zijn bestemd voor projecten, programma&#039;s en onderzoek die de Road to Zero-strategie in de praktijk brengen en bijdragen aan de missie van de NHTSA om nul verkeersdoden te realiseren.<\/p>\n<p>De Road to Zero Coalition, opgericht in 2016 als een samenwerkingsverband tussen het Amerikaanse Ministerie van Transport en de National Safety Council, heeft als doel om het aantal verkeersdoden in de Verenigde Staten tegen 2050 tot nul te reduceren. Tienduizenden mensen komen jaarlijks om het leven op de Amerikaanse wegen, met een historische stijging en een toenemend aantal doden onder voetgangers en fietsers.
