Naast een bedrag van maximaal 1,9 biljoen dollar om hun voorstellen uit te voeren, ontvangt elke stad ook technische ondersteuning van GDCI op het gebied van projectimplementatie, ontwerp van fietsvoorzieningen, gegevensverzameling, betrokkenheid van inwoners en andere best practices.<\/p>\n<p>Parallel aan de nieuwe BICI-subsidies zoekt iRAP partners om het nieuwe project te testen. <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/cyclerap\/\">CycleRAP<\/a> model dat succesvolle subsidieontvangers een op bewijs gebaseerde methode biedt om de veiligheid te meten en te valideren <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/rap-tools\/infrastructure-ratings\/star-ratings\/\">Sterbeoordeling<\/a> van hun ontwerpen en infrastructuur.<\/p>\n<p>Dit unieke programma staat open voor steden met meer dan 100.000 inwoners. Aanvragen kunnen worden ingediend tussen 10 november 2022 en 3 februari 2023. Steden kunnen de aanvraag bekijken, hun interesse kenbaar maken en zich aanmelden voor webinars over de aanvraagprocedure die virtueel plaatsvinden op 1, 2 en 3 november. <a href=\"https:\/\/bloombergcities.jhu.edu\/bici\">https:\/\/bloombergcities.jhu.edu\/bici<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/cyclerap\/\">CycleRAP<\/a> Het is een eenvoudige, betaalbare en snelle methode om de veiligheid van weg- en fietsinfrastructuur te beoordelen. Het doel is om het aantal ongevallen te verminderen en de veiligheid te verbeteren, met name voor fietsers en andere gebruikers van lichte mobiliteit, door risicovolle locaties te identificeren zonder dat daarvoor ongevalsgegevens nodig zijn.<\/p>\n<p>CycleRAP zal de basis vormen voor softwaretools die worden gebruikt om de locaties waar fietsers en gebruikers van lichte mobiliteitsvoertuigen waarschijnlijk zullen plaatsvinden, nauwkeurig in kaart te brengen. Het model gebruikt gegevens over de kenmerken van een weg, straat of pad om het risico op ongevallen voor fietsers en gebruikers van lichte mobiliteitsvoertuigen te evalueren \u2013 ongeacht het type voorziening (of het nu op de weg of off-road is) en voor alle soorten ongevallen. Het kan overal ter wereld worden gebruikt.<\/p>\n<p>Het toegankelijker maken van fietsen in steden voor inwoners zal bijdragen aan de vermindering van broeikasgasemissies, de verbetering van de volksgezondheid en de vergroting van de economische kansen. Maar daarvoor moeten steden infrastructuur aanleggen die fietsen veiliger en toegankelijker maakt \u2013 en Bloomberg Philanthropies helpt hen daar graag bij\u201d, aldus Michael R. Bloomberg, oprichter van Bloomberg LP en Bloomberg Philanthropies en de 108e burgemeester van New York City, die de lancering van het Bloomberg Initiative for Cycling Infrastructure aankondigde tijdens Bloomberg CityLab 2022. \u201cIn een tijd waarin veel steden worstelen om hun binnensteden nieuw leven in te blazen, zal investeren in veilige, schone en toegankelijke vervoersmogelijkheden een katalysator voor vooruitgang zijn.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c&quot;Investeringen in veilige en toegankelijke fietspaden zijn investeringen in de gezondheid, duurzaamheid en economische toekomst van de planeet&quot;, aldus Janette Sadik-Khan, Principal for Transportation bij Bloomberg Associates en voormalig commissaris van het New York City Department of Transportation. &quot;Steden hebben behoefte aan een infrastructuur die de mens centraal stelt, niet alleen aan megaprojecten die auto&#039;s verplaatsen. Dit programma zal levensreddende straatontwerpen realiseren en de uitstoot terugdringen die een bedreiging vormt voor de planeet.&quot;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Succesvolle steden hebben transportsystemen nodig die mensen in staat stellen zich veilig, effici\u00ebnt en duurzaam te verplaatsen. Uitgebreide fietsnetwerken kunnen aan deze behoeften voldoen en tegelijkertijd de volksgezondheid en het welzijn verbeteren. Onderzoek toont consequent aan dat de aanleg van fietsinfrastructuur ook sociale voordelen oplevert die vele malen groter zijn dan de investering, en dat mensen die fietsen gezonder en gelukkiger zijn. Een belangrijke belemmering voor fietsen in veel steden is echter het gebrek aan veilige fietsinfrastructuur. BICI is ontworpen om stadsbestuurders te helpen tegemoet te komen aan de dringende behoefte aan een meer verbonden en uitgebreide fietsinfrastructuur die zoveel mogelijk inwoners ten goede komt.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018&quot;Als het gaat om fietsinfrastructuur, is elke stad uniek&quot;, aldus Skye Duncan, directeur van GDCI. &quot;Maar de behoefte aan verbeterde fietsnetwerken die veilig, beschermd en verbonden zijn voor alle leeftijden en niveaus is universeel. Of een stad nu al beschikt over faciliteiten van wereldklasse of aan het begin staat van de ontwikkeling van betere fietsinfrastructuur, we kijken ernaar uit om samen te werken met de geselecteerde steden die klaar zijn om hun straten opnieuw te bekijken door hun lokale fietsnetwerken te implementeren en uit te breiden. GDCI kijkt ernaar uit om jarenlange ervaring met fietsinfrastructuur in te zetten in onze samenwerking met steden als onderdeel van BICI.&quot;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>De tien geselecteerde steden worden in het voorjaar van 2023 bekendgemaakt en BICI biedt hen de mogelijkheid om niet alleen het fietsen lokaal te bevorderen, maar ook om zich aan te sluiten bij een wereldwijd netwerk van gelijkgestemden van wie ze kunnen leren hoe ze de beste praktijken op het gebied van fietsen wereldwijd kunnen verbeteren.
