Deze problemen kunnen en moeten worden aangepakt door lokale aanpassing van beleid en interventies die in hoge-inkomenslanden al goed zijn ontwikkeld.<\/p>\n<p>Het merendeel van het bewijs voor de effectiviteit van interventies om verkeersslachtoffers te verminderen, is afkomstig uit studies die zijn uitgevoerd in landen met een hoog inkomen.<\/p>\n<p>Dit onderzoek werd gefinancierd door <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fiafoundation.org\/\">FIA Foundation<\/a>, met als doel de lacune op te vullen, voortbouwend op eerder onderzoek door de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vises.org.au\/\">Victoria Instituut voor Strategische Economische Studies<\/a> Het doel is een model te ontwikkelen voor het begrijpen van de impact van verschillende interventies op het aantal doden en gewonden bij verkeersongevallen in diverse contexten in lage- en middeninkomenslanden.<\/p>\n<p>Het onderzoek richtte zich op de impact van verkeersveiligheidsmaatregelen op de leeftijdsgroep van 10 tot 24 jaar, gebruikmakend van gegevens uit de Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2019 voor 77 lage- en middeninkomenslanden. Het bestond uit een aantal fasen:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Overzicht van het bewijsmateriaal over de effectiviteit van interventies om verkeersslachtoffers in lage- en middeninkomenslanden te verminderen.<\/li>\n<li>Kostenraming van investeringscases<\/li>\n<li>Ontwikkeling van het Road Safety Intervention Model (RSIM)<\/li>\n<li>Ontwikkeling van een economisch model om de gezondheidsvoordelen van een verminderd aantal sterfgevallen en ernstige verwondingen in economische termen uit te drukken en analyses van het rendement op investeringen mogelijk te maken.<\/li>\n<li>Toepassing van RSIM en economische modellering op casestudylanden zoals Tanzania, Vietnam en Colombia.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Het uitgebreide model voor verkeersveiligheidsinterventies (RSIM)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Murdoch-RSIM-1024.jpg\" alt=\"Murdoch RSIM 1024\" \/><\/p>\n<p>De infrastructurele interventies in het Road Safety Intervention Model (RSIM) maakten gebruik van het werk dat iRAP en haar partners hadden verricht met behulp van de <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/methodology\/\">iRAP Sterrenbeoordelingsmethodologie<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Uit de modellen blijkt dat als de maatregelen in alle 77 landen worden doorgevoerd, tussen 2022 en 2050 meer dan 1,9 miljoen jongerenlevens zullen worden gered en 11,7 miljoen ernstige verwondingen zullen worden voorkomen.<\/p>\n<p>Naast de enorme afname van het aantal dodelijke slachtoffers en ernstig gewonden, laat de economische analyse zien dat de implementatie van de gemodelleerde interventies een zeer goede economische en sociale investering zou zijn, met baten-kostenratio&#039;s (BCR&#039;s) tussen 4,6 en 66 voor de 77 landen.<\/p>\n<p>Hoewel het onderzoek een algemene indicatie geeft van het aantal geredde levens en vermeden ernstige verwondingen, evenals de economische voordelen, bieden de casestudies voor Tanzania, Vietnam en Colombia een meer gedetailleerde analyse.
