{"id":3108,"date":"2022-03-07T03:48:19","date_gmt":"2022-03-06T16:48:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.temp.irap-dev.org\/calling-all-countries-with-3-month-count-down-spotlight-on-un-high-level-meeting-and-call-to-implement-global-plan\/"},"modified":"2026-04-30T12:39:51","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T02:39:51","slug":"calling-all-countries-with-3-month-count-down-spotlight-on-un-high-level-meeting-and-call-to-implement-global-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/calling-all-countries-with-3-month-count-down-spotlight-on-un-high-level-meeting-and-call-to-implement-global-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"Oproep aan alle landen met nog 3 maanden te gaan: Focus op de VN-bijeenkomst op hoog niveau en oproep tot uitvoering van het mondiale plan."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Op 30 juni en 1 juli komen leiders van over de hele wereld bijeen in de Verenigde Naties in New York voor de allereerste <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/pga\/76\/event\/high-level-meeting-on-global-road-safety\/\">Hoogwaardige bijeenkomst over verkeersveiligheid<\/a>. iRAP roept elk land op om actief deel te nemen, successen te delen en zich in te zetten voor de implementatie ervan. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/teams\/social-determinants-of-health\/safety-and-mobility\/decade-of-action-for-road-safety-2021-2030\">Wereldwijd plan voor het decennium van actie voor verkeersveiligheid 2021-2030<\/a> om levens te redden en ernstig letsel te voorkomen.<\/p>\n<p>Het thema van de bijeenkomst is &quot;De horizon voor verkeersveiligheid in 2030: een decennium van actie en resultaten veiligstellen&quot; en sluit aan bij de Duurzame Ontwikkelingsdoelstelling van de VN om het aantal verkeersdoden en -gewonden tegen 2030 te halveren. <strong>Het is<\/strong> <strong>Naar verwachting zal dit leiden tot een politieke beslissing.<\/strong> met als doel lacunes en uitdagingen aan te pakken, politiek leiderschap te mobiliseren, samenwerking tussen verschillende sectoren en belanghebbenden te bevorderen en de vooruitgang te beoordelen die is geboekt bij het bereiken van de doelstellingen van de SDG&#039;s met betrekking tot verkeersveiligheid.<\/p>\n<h3>\u201c&quot;Door daadkrachtig en doortastend op te treden, met de nadruk op actie en resultaat in lijn met het mondiale plan en de bijeenkomst op hoog niveau, kunnen wereldleiders het tij keren in de pandemie van verkeersongevallen en duizenden levens redden.&quot;\u201d<\/h3>\n<p>Rob McInerney, CEO van iRAP<\/p>\n<p>iRAP heeft via de permanente VN-missies een brief gestuurd naar de staatshoofden in de betreffende landen en moedigt RAP-partners aan om de brief opnieuw te delen met hun staatshoofd, minister van Transport en relevante ministeries, waarbij lokale successen en steun voor de implementatie van het mondiale plan worden gedeeld.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"et-button\" href=\"https:\/\/seafile.irap.org\/d\/d91452b696394a9492cd\/\">Download hier de landletters<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Verkeersongevallen treffen elk land, elke gemeenschap en elke economie. Wereldwijd zijn verkeersongevallen de belangrijkste doodsoorzaak onder kinderen en jongeren.<\/p>\n<h3>Zonder actie op mondiaal niveau zullen verkeersongevallen naar schatting 13 miljoen doden en 500 miljoen gewonden veroorzaken in dit decennium, met kosten van meer dan 1,9 biljoen dollar voor de wereldeconomie.<\/h3>\n<p>Door bestaande en nieuwe investeringen te richten op bewezen oplossingen, kunnen levens worden gered, verwondingen worden verminderd, geld worden bespaard en banen worden gecre\u00eberd als onderdeel van nationale en mondiale reacties op verkeersveiligheid.<\/p>\n<p>Het mondiale plan schetst de geco\u00f6rdineerde actie die nodig is in alle sectoren, waaronder veilige en duurzame transportplanning; veiligere weginfrastructuur, veiligere voertuigen; veiliger weggebruik; en een betere respons na ongevallen. Het vereist inzet op resultaatgerichte financiering, het handhaven van veilige snelheden, capaciteitsopbouw en nieuwe technologie\u00ebn, met extra steun voor lage- en middeninkomenslanden.<\/p>\n<p>Om een veiligere weginfrastructuur te cre\u00ebren, zijn beleid, resultaatgerichte financiering en actie nodig om ervoor te zorgen dat in 2030 meer dan 751.800 ton aan reizen plaatsvindt over wegen met een beoordeling van 3 sterren of beter voor alle weggebruikers.
