Tragisch genoeg is het aantal mensen dat ook door ernstige en levenslange verwondingen door verkeersongevallen wordt getroffen nog groter. Voor elke gedode persoon worden naar schatting 30 tot 50 mensen verwond.<\/p>\n<p>Het dashboard is ontwikkeld als een partnerschap van <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iRAP<\/a> en de Transport Accident Commission (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tac.vic.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">TAC<\/a>om de omvang van het probleem voor de volksgezondheid te begrijpen en ervoor te zorgen dat de urgentie van de respons overeenkomt met de impact op de gemeenschap. De visie van TAC is nul verkeersdoden en -gewonden op de wegen in Victoria.<\/p>\n<p>TAC is een overheidsorganisatie van de staat Victoria die is opgericht om behandelingen en voordelen te betalen voor mensen die gewond zijn geraakt bij verkeersongevallen, verkeersveiligheid te bevorderen en het traumazorgsysteem van Victoria te verbeteren. In nauwe samenwerking met partners op het gebied van verkeersveiligheid investeert de TAC ook in veiligere weginfrastructuur en ontwikkelt zij campagnes die gedrag veranderen en het aantal verkeersslachtoffers verminderen.<\/p>\n<p>Als sociale verzekeraar biedt de letselgegevensbank van TAC uniek inzicht in de soorten letsel, ongevallen, wegen en weggebruikers die bij verkeersongevallen betrokken zijn, evenals in de totale kosten van schadeclaims gedurende de gehele levensduur die uit dit letsel voortvloeien. Het dashboard laat zien waar in de gezondheidszorg de kosten vallen en wanneer ze zich voordoen. Deze kosten blijven vaak verborgen voor beleidsmakers en het publiek, en het TAC iRAP Road Injury Dashboard werpt een licht op de werkelijke kosten van verkeersletsel.<\/p>\n<p>Uit een voorbeeldzoekopdracht in het dashboard blijkt dat 21- tot 25-jarigen de risicogroep met het hoogste risico vormen. De totale kosten van ongevallen voor weggebruikers in de leeftijdscategorie 21-25 jaar bedragen AUD$1 miljard; ernstig hersenletsel is de meest voorkomende letselsoort en jonge bestuurders vormen de meest risicovolle groep weggebruikers, aangezien zij rijden in een zone met een maximumsnelheid van 100 km\/u. De kosten voor de gezondheidszorg worden grotendeels gedragen door de verstrekking van langdurige zorg.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/TAC-dashboard-image-21-25-yo-ALL.png\" alt=\"TAC dashboard image - 21-25 yo ALL\" \/>Ter vergelijking: als de zoekopdracht wordt beperkt tot uitsluitend vrouwen, blijven de 21- tot 25-jarigen de risicogroep met het hoogste risico, waarbij de totale kosten van hun ongevallen, vastgelegd op AUD$585 miljoen, ten laste komen van de langdurige zorg.
