{"id":2210,"date":"2020-09-16T00:08:52","date_gmt":"2020-09-15T14:08:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.temp.irap-dev.org\/are-you-developing-your-next-road-safety-action-plan\/"},"modified":"2026-04-30T12:37:56","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T02:37:56","slug":"are-you-developing-your-next-road-safety-action-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/are-you-developing-your-next-road-safety-action-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"Bent u bezig met het ontwikkelen van uw volgende Actieplan voor Verkeersveiligheid?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Global infrastructure KPIs support Action Plans to achieve 2nd\u00a0Decade Goals<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The recent UN announcement of the 2<span style=\"font-size: 11.6667px;\">En<\/span>\u00a0Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030 calls on all countries to achieve at least a 50% reduction in road deaths and injuries by 2030 and achieve the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/violence_injury_prevention\/road_traffic\/12GlobalRoadSafetyTargets.pdf?ua=1\">Wereldwijde prestatiedoelstellingen voor verkeersveiligheid<\/a> agreed by Member States. \u00a0As part of your own locally led Road Assessment Programme, iRAP\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/resources.irap.org\/General\/Road_Infrastructure_KPIs_using_the_iRAP_Global_Standard.pdf\">Wereldwijde infrastructuur KPI's<\/a> beleidsroutekaart en aanbevolen meetinstrumenten voor het meten van succes.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re shaping your next Road Safety Action Plan, consider including the following targets and actions:<\/p>\n<p>1. A minimum 50% reduction in road deaths and injuries by 2030 and the associated implementation of the Global Road Safety Performance Targets.<\/p>\n<p>2. In support of Global Target 3 implement mandatory reporting of the before and after Star Rating performance and predicted deaths and injuries expected over the 20-year life of all infrastructure investment.<\/p>\n<p>3. In support of Global Target 4 adopt the Global <a href=\"https:\/\/resources.irap.org\/General\/Road_Infrastructure_KPIs_using_the_iRAP_Global_Standard.pdf\">Infrastructure Safety KPIs<\/a> on the roads where 75% of travel occurs for each road user (i.e. 75% of travel for pedestrians, 75% of travel for cyclists, 75% of travel for motorcyclists and 75% of travel for vehicle occupants) and report on these every 3-5 years.<\/p>\n<p>4. Publish Risk Maps on an annual basis for roads where &gt;75% of travel occurs for each road user (crashes per kilometre and crashes per kilometre travelled) and report the most improved and persistently high-risk roads with associated performance tracking.<\/p>\n<p>5. Establish a Safer Roads Fund and results based financing initiatives to target speed management, financing and upgrades on the persistently high-risk road sections each year that maximises lives and serious injuries saved per dollar spent.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/WHOGlobalRoadSafetyTargets-3-4-only.jpg\" alt=\"A long-term care system\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the Global Road Infrastructure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/2018\/04\/targets-3-4-what-they-mean-for-safer-roads-globally\/\">VN-doelen 3 en 4<\/a> daartoe behoren onder meer het waarborgen dat alle nieuwe wegen worden aangelegd volgens een norm van minimaal 3 sterren voor alle weggebruikers (doelstelling 3), en dat in 2030 meer dan 75% aan verkeer plaatsvindt op wegen die voor alle weggebruikers voldoen aan een norm van minimaal 3 sterren (doelstelling 4).<\/p>\n<p>Recommended Crash Data, Infrastructure and Speed Management KPIs for Existing Roads:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/KPIs-Existing-Roads-scaled.png\" alt=\"KPIs - Existing Roads\" \/><\/p>\n<p>By Attribute:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/KPIs-By-Attribute-scaled.png\" alt=\"KPIs - By Attribute\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For New and Upgraded Roads:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/KPIs-New-and-Upgraded-Roads-scaled.png\" alt=\"KPIs - New and Upgraded Roads\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Achievement of the UN Targets by 2030 stands to save 450,000 lives per year with an economic benefit of $8 for every $1 invested.
