Op 9 september, de\u00a0Internationale Wegen Federatie<\/a>\u00a0en\u00a0iRAP<\/a>\u00a0gehost\u00a0Verenigde Naties Samenwerking Verkeersveiligheid (UNRSC)<\/a>\u00a0webinar over de\u00a0Stappenplan voor Veiliger Weginfrastructuur<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Het Tien-Stappenplan is opgesteld door de partners van de UNRSC Safer Roads and Mobility Group om een duidelijk proces te bieden voor het opzetten van systemen, het opbouwen van capaciteit en het cre\u00ebren van partnerschappen ter ondersteuning van de implementatie van het VN-verdrag inzake wegverkeer en verkeerstekens en het bereiken van de\u00a0VN-lidstaten kwamen overeen wereldwijde doelstellingen<\/a>\u00a03 en 4 voor veiligere nieuwe en bestaande wegen.<\/p>\n

Het Ti stappenplan is een belangrijke bron ter ondersteuning van de\u00a0Tweede Decennium van Actie voor Verkeersveiligheid (2021-2030)<\/a>\u00a0met als doel het aantal doden en gewonden tegen 2030 te halveren. Momenteel komen meer dan 1,35 miljoen mensen om en raken er wel 50 miljoen gewond per jaar, waarbij 90 procent van die slachtoffers valt in ontwikkelingslanden. Verkeersongevallen zijn wereldwijd de belangrijkste doodsoorzaak voor kinderen en jongeren tussen 15 en 29 jaar oud.<\/p>\n

Het webinar, met 1243 aanmeldingen uit 120 landen, bracht een reeks internationale sprekers samen om het 10-stappenplan te bespreken.<\/p>\n
