{"id":2009,"date":"2020-04-22T21:19:19","date_gmt":"2020-04-22T11:19:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.temp.irap-dev.org\/irap-webinar-builds-capacity-of-52-idb-staff-to-save-lives-in-latin-america-and-the-caribbean\/"},"modified":"2026-04-30T12:37:51","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T02:37:51","slug":"irap-webinar-builds-capacity-of-52-idb-staff-to-save-lives-in-latin-america-and-the-caribbean","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/irap-webinar-builds-capacity-of-52-idb-staff-to-save-lives-in-latin-america-and-the-caribbean\/","title":{"rendered":"Het iRAP-webinar vergroot de capaciteit van 52 IDB-medewerkers om levens te redden in Latijns-Amerika en het Caribisch gebied."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tijdens een webinar van de Inter-Amerikaanse Ontwikkelingsbank (IDB), dat vandaag plaatsvond, zijn 50 medewerkers in staat gesteld regionale landen te ondersteunen bij het elimineren van wegen met een hoog risico, het ontsluiten van de economische voordelen van wegen met een beoordeling van 3 sterren of beter via resultaatgerichte financiering en het voldoen aan de mondiale SDG- en VN-doelstellingen.<\/p>\n<p>Het initiatief ondersteunt de ontwikkeling van nationale verkeersveiligheidsplannen door de IDB en is een eerste stap in het iRAP- en IDB-partnerschap om de verkeersveiligheid in Latijns-Amerika en het Caribisch gebied te verbeteren, zoals geformaliseerd door <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/2020\/02\/media-release-idb-and-irap-will-work-together-to-improve-road-safety-in-latin-america-and-the-caribbean\/\">De overeenkomst werd op 19 februari in Stockholm ondertekend.<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Rob McInerney, CEO van iRAP, presenteerde de visie van iRAP, de relevante mondiale SDG&#039;s (3.6, 9.1 en 11.2) en <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/2018\/04\/targets-3-4-what-they-mean-for-safer-roads-globally\/\">VN-doelstellingen<\/a> voor de veiligheid van de infrastructuur, evenals beschikbare middelen om landen te helpen hun verkeersveiligheidssituatie te begrijpen. Deze omvatten onder meer: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/publications-detail\/global-status-report-on-road-safety-2018\">Wereldgezondheidsrapport 2018 over de verkeersveiligheid<\/a>, iRAP&#039;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vaccinesforroads.org\/\">Vaccins voor Wegen<\/a> en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vaccinesforroads.org\/irap-big-data-tool\/\">Big Data-tool<\/a> Het document toont de wereldwijde en nationale impact van verkeersongevallen op het gebied van letsel en de zakelijke argumenten voor veiligere wegen. <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/nl\/2020\/02\/ten-step-plan-for-safer-road-infrastructure-resource-document-available\/\">10-stappenplan<\/a> om landen te helpen institutionele capaciteit op te bouwen om levens te redden op veiligere wegen.<\/p>\n<p>Regionaal directeur \u2013 Amerika Julio Urzua gaf een presentatie over de huidige situatie met betrekking tot de veiligheid van de weginfrastructuur en de activiteiten van iRAP in Latijns-Amerika, en over hoe medewerkers contact kunnen leggen met de RAP-programmaleiders in de verschillende landen.<\/p>\n<p>Morgan Fletcher, senior verkeersveiligheidsingenieur, gaf een presentatie over de methodologie van iRAP en de gratis tools die beschikbaar zijn om landen te ondersteunen bij het bereiken van een veiligere weginfrastructuur met minimaal drie sterren. Succesvolle voorbeelden werden getoond.<\/p>\n<p>In 2016 kwamen in Latijns-Amerika meer dan 110.000 mensen om het leven en raakten ruim 1 miljoen mensen ernstig gewond bij verkeersongevallen, met een schade van 1,9 biljoen dollar, oftewel 4,4 procent van het bbp (WHO, 2018).<\/p>\n<p>Het iRAP\/IDB-partnerschap zal zich richten op het realiseren van een meetbare vermindering van verkeersslachtoffers in Latijns-Amerika en het Caribisch gebied en bijdragen aan de verwezenlijking van de Duurzame Ontwikkelingsdoelen (SDG&#039;s) en de mondiale doelstellingen voor verkeersveiligheid, met name doelstelling 3: &quot;Tegen 2030 voldoen alle nieuwe wegen aan technische normen voor alle weggebruikers die rekening houden met verkeersveiligheid, of behalen ze een beoordeling van drie sterren of beter&quot;; en doelstelling 4: &quot;Tegen 2030 vindt meer dan 751 TP8T aan reizen op bestaande wegen plaats op wegen die voldoen aan technische normen voor alle weggebruikers die rekening houden met verkeersveiligheid&quot;.
