These webinars marked a pivotal moment in the journey toward the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety, offering an exclusive first look at the new improved iRAP Star Rating Model: Version 3.10.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">Following a comprehensive five-year review by the iRAP Global Technical Committee, Version 3.10 is set to launch in May 2026. This allows for better-targeted investment decisions by highlighting where the risk is most acute.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"13\"><b data-path-to-node=\"13\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">What improvements have been made for Vulnerable Road Users (VRUs)?<\/b><\/p>\n<blockquote data-path-to-node=\"14\">\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14,0\">Version 3.10 features major enhancements to pedestrian and bicyclist models. This includes a brand-new <b data-path-to-node=\"14,0\" data-index-in-node=\"103\">Bicyclist Crossing crash type<\/b> and more granular coding categories\u2014such as the specific distance of sidewalks from the curb &#8211; to improve model precision.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"15\"><b data-path-to-node=\"15\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Can we measure small safety improvements that don&#8217;t shift a full Star Rating?<\/b><\/p>\n<blockquote data-path-to-node=\"16\">\n<p data-path-to-node=\"16,0\">Yes. With the new <b data-path-to-node=\"16,0\" data-index-in-node=\"18\">Decimal Star Ratings<\/b>, authorities can now measure and communicate gradual improvements more clearly. This captures the impact of targeted safety upgrades that reduce risk even if the road remains within its current Star band.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"17\"><b data-path-to-node=\"17\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">How will this affect our existing projects in ViDA?<\/b><\/p>\n<blockquote data-path-to-node=\"18\">\n<p data-path-to-node=\"18,0\">Projects currently using Version 3.02 will remain as they are to ensure consistency. However, Version 3.10 will be the new standard for all future assessments in ViDA starting May 2026. Transition guidance is available to help partners understand why results may change between versions.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"18,0\">We have updated our <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/resources.irap.org\/Key-documents\/Model_v3.10_update_FAQ.pdf\">Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document<\/a> <\/strong>that answers to common technical and data management queries, to include the Q&amp;A&#8217;s from these sessions.<\/p>\n<hr data-path-to-node=\"19\" \/>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"20\">Upcoming Sessions: Join Us in Your Language<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"21\">We are continuing this global rollout with three dedicated sessions in <b data-path-to-node=\"21\" data-index-in-node=\"71\">Spanish, Portuguese, and French<\/b>.
