The annual EuroRAP General Assembly was held on the 25th of June as an electronic meeting. It was an occasion to reward high achievements from the past year.<\/p>\n
\u201cDespite the difficult circumstances of the health and economical crisis, the conclusion of the EuroRAP Annual General Assembly is that excellent work has been done in the last year. Apart from the contribution of the members, our EuroRAP Secretary-General deserves a great compliment for the excellent work done is such a short time. It is a great achievement to have ten National programmes granted from last year and another ten applications underway, ensuring Pan-European RAP programmes. In that respect, we can look to the future with confidence. These programmes are essential to delivering the necessary results to improve road safety. At the same time, we should monitor the changing trends in Mobility as a result of the COVID-19 and pay attention to the increasing number of vulnerable road users\u201d said Mr. Ferry Smith, Chairman of EuroRAP Board of Directors.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can see that the strength of the association lies in the support it receives from its membership for a shared vision of a Europe free from high-risk roads. The Association will continue to engage with its Members in its activities and committees as well working in closer cooperation with the national road authorities and motorway companies to achieve the implementation of the Road Infrastructure Safety Management Directive. EuroRAP will also develop within 2020 together with its membership the future research priorities to envision Safer Roads in 2030-2050. This work will be aligned with iRAP Innovation work\u201d Mrs. Lina Konstantinopoulou, EuroRAP Secretary-General said.<\/p>\n
Our warmest congratulations to Mr. John Dawson and Mr. Xavier Flores to serve as Directors of the Association for a further one and three-year term respectively.<\/p>\n
