Despite knowledge and free tools to improve design safety, unsafe 1- and 2-star roads are still being built.<\/p>\n<p>SR4D strengthens the road safety audit process, complementing it with an objective and repeatable qualification of road user risk (without the need for a high level of experience), and supports the wider potential of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/rap-tools\/infrastructure-ratings\/star-ratings\/\">Star Ratings<\/a>\u00a0as a safety performance metric and maximised safety in road infrastructure investment.<\/p>\n<p>SR4D will be essential to supporting countries to achieve the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/resources.irap.org\/General\/12_UN_Global_Road_Safety_Targets.pdf\">United Nations Global Road Safety Performance Targets<\/a>, especially\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/2018\/04\/targets-3-4-what-they-mean-for-safer-roads-globally\/\">Target 3<\/a>\u00a0to ensure all new roads are built to a 3-star or better standard for all road users.<\/p>\n<p>In this session we will cover:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All the new features that have been introduced<\/li>\n<li>A live demonstration of the web app<\/li>\n<li>Help you understand how the SR4D web app can help you achieve the UN Global Road Safety Performance Targets with a focus on Target 3 \u2013 ensuring all new roads are built to a 3-star or better standard for all road users.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Speakers will include:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marko Sevrovic, <\/strong>Senior Road Safety Expert, European Institute of Road Assessment<\/p>\n<p>Assoc. Prof. Marko \u0160evrovi\u0107, Ph. D. is an experienced Project leader, licensed Road Safety Auditor, charted road transport engineer and is certified by International Road Assessment Programme for road survey, road attribute coding and analysis and reporting.
