iRAP Global Projects Director Julio Urzua recently joined over 300 decisions-makers at Traffic Chile 2025<\/a> in Santiago, presenting a solutions focus to road infrastructure safety through use of the iRAP methodology and tools.<\/p>\n

The conference organised by Mutual de Seguridad from 30 September to 1 October, aimed to promote the exchange of knowledge, showcase recent advances, integrate innovative technologies, and generate proposals to address current and future road safety challenges in the country.<\/p>\n

Session themes focussed on governance and public policies in road safety, global trends and lessons learned, predictive technologies and systems applied to transportation, sustainable mobility and safe infrastructure, and citizen participation in the construction of a new road culture.<\/p>\n

Among the authorities present were the\u00a0<\/span>Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Juan Carlos Mu\u00f1oz<\/span>\u00a0, la\u00a0<\/span>Undersecretary of Transport, Jorge Daza<\/span>, la\u00a0<\/span>Superintendent of Social Security (s), Patricia Soto<\/span>\u00a0, la\u00a0<\/span>Executive Secretary of CONASET,\u00a0<\/span>Luz Renata Infante Acevedo<\/span><\/a>\u00a0, et le\u00a0<\/span>President of Copsa Chile, Gloria Hutt<\/span>. The event was led by the General Manager of Mutual de Seguridad,\u00a0<\/span>Felipe Bunster Echenique<\/span>, together with\u00a0<\/span>H\u00e9ctor Jaramillo<\/span>\u00a0et\u00a0<\/span>Luis Alberto Stuven Hurtado.<\/span><\/p>\n

Selon\u00a0Explorateur d'informations sur la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de l'iRAP<\/a>, la r\u00e9alisation de l'objectif n\u00b0 4 des Nations unies, qui vise \u00e0 ce que plus de 75% des trajets effectu\u00e9s par tous les usagers de la route au Chili se fassent sur des routes class\u00e9es 3 \u00e9toiles ou plus d'ici 2030, permettrait de sauver environ 372 vies chaque ann\u00e9e, et d'\u00e9viter 661 727 d\u00e9c\u00e8s et bless\u00e9s sur les 20 ans de dur\u00e9e de vie des am\u00e9nagements routiers, avec un b\u00e9n\u00e9fice \u00e9conomique estim\u00e9 \u00e0 $2,1 milliards de dollars \u2013 soit 1,660 dollar pour chaque dollar d\u00e9pens\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Partner-led iRAP activity has already assessed 10,702 km of roads and designs, and 13 schools in Chile, influencing the safety of US$27 million of road infrastructure investment. This includes 1,907km of roads assessed in the Magallanes, Ays\u00e9n and Los Lagos regions<\/a>, in partnership with the Ministry of Public Works (MOP), DDQ Engineering Consultants, APSA and iRAP last year, helping to build local capacity and inform evidence-based road upgrades to save lives.<\/p>\n
