{"id":4751,"date":"2024-05-27T07:41:17","date_gmt":"2024-05-26T21:41:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.temp.irap-dev.org\/philippines-2028-strategy-includes-irap-targets-for-safer-roads\/"},"modified":"2024-05-27T07:41:17","modified_gmt":"2024-05-26T21:41:17","slug":"philippines-2028-strategy-includes-irap-targets-for-safer-roads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irap.org\/fr\/philippines-2028-strategy-includes-irap-targets-for-safer-roads\/","title":{"rendered":"Philippines 2028 Strategy includes iRAP targets for safer roads"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dpwh.gov.ph\/\">Philippines Department of Public Works and Highways<\/a>&#8216; Strategy for 2028 includes iRAP targets for improving the safety of primary roads.<\/p>\n<p>The targets include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To increase the percentage of the national primary road length which achieves a 3-star or better safety rating with annual goal kilometres to be achieved; and<\/li>\n<li>To increase the percentage of completed road projects with implemented iRAP or Road Safety Audit (RSA) recommendations designed to upgrade the road Star Rating.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Le <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/fr\/rap-tools\/infrastructure-ratings\/star-ratings\/\">\u00c9toile iRAP<\/a> et <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/fr\/rap-tools\/investment-planning\/safer-roads-investment-plans\/\">Plans d'investissement pour des routes plus s\u00fbres<\/a> will be used by the Department to prioritize road safety improvements and investments.<\/p>\n<p>By identifying road segments with a lower Star Rating, resources will be optimized on interventions to greatly improve safety and reduce the number of crashes, injuries and fatalities on the network.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"et-button\" href=\"https:\/\/resources.irap.org\/CRM\/Asia_Pacific\/Philippines\/2023-2028_Philippines_DPWH_Strategic_Plan.pdf\">T\u00e9l\u00e9charger la strat\u00e9gie<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Partner-led iRAP activity has already assessed nearly 12,500 km of roads and designs, and 125 schools in The Philippines, influencing the safety of over US$2.2 billion of road infrastructure investment.<\/p>\n<p>Selon<a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/fr\/safety-insights-explorer\/\"> Explorateur d'informations sur la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de l'iRAP<\/a>, achieving UN Target 4 for greater than 75% of travel on 3-star or better roads for all road users in the country by 2030 is estimated to save 4,295 lives a year, and nearly\u00a0 945,000 lives and serious injuries over the 20-year life of road treatments, with an economic benefit of USD$50.2 billion \u2013 $11.90 for every $1 spent.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Philippines-BCSR.png\" alt=\"Philippines BCSR\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"et-button\" href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/fr\/policies-into-practice\/\">See more inspirational policy examples<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Philippines Department of Public Works and Highways&#8216; Strategy for 2028 includes iRAP targets for improving the safety of primary roads.
