This year\u2019s report tracks the safety performance of motorways and \u2018A\u2019 roads in Great Britain, These roads make up less than 13 per cent of the whole network, but almost 60 per cent of all fatal crashes and more than 40 per cent of serious road crashes occur on these roads.<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
The report shows\u00a0how risk varies across the road network and provides commentary on approaches for prioritisation for investment. It identifies groups of routes that meet different value for money criteria depending on the network to which they belong. High-return road safety schemes are available across Great Britain, often with much better benefit-cost ratios than for other public sector investment.<\/div>\n
