Traffic crashes are now the fifth leading cause of deaths in the country and the vehicle fleet has doubled between 2000 and 2015.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/fr\/rap-tools\/crash-data\/crash-risk-mapping\/\">Cartes de risque d'accidents<\/a> use detailed crash data to capture the combined risk arising from the interaction of road users, vehicles and the road environment, and provide an indication of the overall road system&#8217;s safety performance.<\/p>\n<p>Les cartes offrent une vue d'ensemble et objective des lieux o\u00f9 se sont produits des accidents mortels et graves et o\u00f9 le risque d'accident grave est le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9. L'utilisation de la m\u00e9thodologie mondiale de l'iRAP permet la comparaison et le suivi des performances dans le temps.<\/p>\n<p>Les principaux indicateurs comprennent les taux d'accidents par kilom\u00e8tre\/mille et les taux d'accidents par kilom\u00e8tre\/mille parcourus, avec des versions plus d\u00e9taill\u00e9es incluant l'usager de la route, le groupe d'\u00e2ge ou par rapport aux taux d'accidents moyens pour ce type de route.<\/p>\n<p>Crash Risk Maps and <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/fr\/rap-tools\/infrastructure-ratings\/star-ratings\/\">\u00c9valuations par \u00e9toiles<\/a> are often used together as part of a strategic approach to managing risk and investment.
