{"id":2739,"date":"2021-09-26T05:04:47","date_gmt":"2021-09-25T19:04:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.temp.irap-dev.org\/registration-open-2021-innovation-workshop-with-regional-road-safety-observatories-data-driven-innovation-to-save-lives\/"},"modified":"2026-04-30T12:38:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T02:38:11","slug":"registration-open-2021-innovation-workshop-with-regional-road-safety-observatories-data-driven-innovation-to-save-lives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irap.org\/fr\/registration-open-2021-innovation-workshop-with-regional-road-safety-observatories-data-driven-innovation-to-save-lives\/","title":{"rendered":"Participez en 5 langues : Atelier sur l'innovation 2021 avec les Observatoires r\u00e9gionaux de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 routi\u00e8re \u201c L'innovation ax\u00e9e sur les donn\u00e9es pour sauver des vies \u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2021 iRAP Innovation Workshop co-hosted with the Regional Road Safety Observatories will be presented free in 5 languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Russian) on 7 and 14 October and will shine a light on \u201cData Driven Innovation to Halve Global Road Deaths by 2030\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Effective action, policy-making and investment will require accurate road safety data collected through transparent, rigorous and efficient methods that meet the global safety standard for benchmarking and comparison across time.<\/p>\n<p>The Regional Road Safety Observatories (RRSOs) in Africa (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssatp.org\/topics\/african-road-safety-observatory\">ARSO<\/a>), Asie-Pacifique (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aprso.org\/\">APRSO<\/a>), Ib\u00e9ro-Am\u00e9rique (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oisevi.org\/\">OISEVI<\/a>), Europe (<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/transport\/road_safety\/specialist\/erso_en\">ERSO<\/a>), Balkans occidentaux (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.transport-community.org\/wbrso\/#:~:text=The%20Western%20Balkans%20Road%20Safety,safety%20data%20in%20the%20region.\">WBRSO<\/a>) and Eastern Partnership Road Safety Observatory (EaP) supported by <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/fr\/\">iRAP<\/a> et d&#039;autres organisations intergouvernementales visent \u00e0 acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer les am\u00e9liorations au niveau national en mati\u00e8re de collecte, d&#039;analyse et de prise de d\u00e9cision en mati\u00e8re de donn\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>Big data and artificial intelligence will play a lead role in building the social and economic business case for safer roads and creating the scale of change needed to save millions of lives in the Second UN Decade of Action and to achieve the <a href=\"https:\/\/resources.irap.org\/General\/12_UN_Global_Road_Safety_Targets.pdf\">12 objectifs de performance mondiaux des Nations Unies en mati\u00e8re de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 routi\u00e8re<\/a> relevant to all countries. Targets 3 and 4 particularly pertain to safer road infrastructure and include ensuring all new roads are built to a 3-star or better standard for all road users (Target 3), and more than 75% of travel is on the equivalent of 3-star or better roads for all road users by 2030 (Target 4).<\/p>\n<p>The 2021 iRAP Innovation Workshop will be a 2-part online event bringing together global innovation, policy, technical and road safety leaders, along with investment experts, with the capacity to implement change and eliminate high-risk roads.<\/p>\n<p>The Workshop will explore the data need and shine a light on cutting-edge practice and emerging research and innovation in data collection, partnerships and programmes. A global challenge requires a global solution and the regional road safety observatories present an opportunity for joint regional efforts and economies of scale.
