{"id":2623,"date":"2021-05-31T00:10:26","date_gmt":"2021-05-30T14:10:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.temp.irap-dev.org\/vietnams-2030-strategy-targets-3-star-or-better\/"},"modified":"2026-04-30T12:38:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T02:38:08","slug":"vietnams-2030-strategy-targets-3-star-or-better","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irap.org\/fr\/vietnams-2030-strategy-targets-3-star-or-better\/","title":{"rendered":"Vietnam&#8217;s 2030 Strategy targets 3-star or better"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>iRAP congratulates the Government of Vietnam on the release of their <a href=\"https:\/\/resources.irap.org\/CRM\/Asia_Pacific\/Vietnam\/2021_Vietnam_National_Strategy_on_Road_Traffic_Safety_2021-2030.pdf\">National Road Safety Strategy 2021-2030<\/a> with 3-star or better targets set for new and existing roads, in line with UN Global Road Safety Performance <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/fr\/2018\/04\/targets-3-4-what-they-mean-for-safer-roads-globally\/\">Cibles 3 et 4<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>Approved by the Prime Minister, the Strategy includes for 100% of newly built national highways and provincial roads to be grade III or higher and 75% of the total length of the national highway network to reach 3 stars or more according to the standards of iRAP&#8217;s global road traffic safety assessment programme.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>With a vision to 2045, the Strategy aims to reduce the number of deaths and injuries caused by road traffic crashes annually by 5-10 percent in a sustainable manner.<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/20201216antoangtv_rubyen_full.jpg\" alt=\"20201216antoangtv_rubyen_full\" \/><\/p>\n<div>The iRAP methodology is free for all countries to use, with our <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/fr\/2020\/09\/are-you-developing-your-next-road-safety-action-plan\/\">Indicateurs cl\u00e9s de performance de l'infrastructure mondiale<\/a> providing the policy road map and recommended metrics for measuring success. Governments establishing their Road Safety Strategies and Action Plans can find supporting information <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/fr\/2020\/09\/are-you-developing-your-next-road-safety-action-plan\/\">ici<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>In March 2019, the Vietnamese Government <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fiafoundation.org\/blog\/2019\/march\/vietnam-makes-firm-2030-road-safety-commitments-at-round-the-world-roundtable-initiative\">became the first to make specific pledges<\/a> of action to meet the road safety SDG target by 2030, at a \u2018Round the World Roundtable\u2019 in Hanoi attended by UN Special Envoy for Road Safety Jean Todt.
