Through this Call, the Fund will disburse USD$4 million to approved projects aimed at reducing road traffic fatalities and injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Emphasis is placed on the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Alignment with national priorities, opportunities for synergies and avoiding duplications with other road safety funds and programmes;<\/li>\n<li>Projects with a significant and sustainable impact on road safety in low- and middle-income countries;<\/li>\n<li>Partially connect projects with COVID-19 (active mobility, vulnerable road users and speed management etc.); and<\/li>\n<li>Taking also into account:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>partnerships and leveraging of other resources, including co-financing;<\/li>\n<li>the new UN General Assembly Resolution on Improving Global Road Safety (A\/RES\/74\/299); and<\/li>\n<li>the UN Sustainable Development Goals (i.e. cross-cutting issues).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Only participating UN organizations to the UNRSF are eligible to apply for the 2020 Call for Proposals.
