It works with governments, development banks, mobility clubs, industry and road safety NGOs in nearly 130 countries to provide the free tools, training and support to help them make their roads safer.<\/p>\n Aleatica<\/a> is a global transport infrastructure operator that manages 20 concessions in seven countries in Europe and Latin America, nine urban highways, and seven interstate corridors, which together handle over 353 trillion vehicles annually. The company plans to invest 94.5 million euros in road safety projects over the next four years.<\/p>\n David Diaz, Aleatica’s global CEO, said: “Road safety is our priority. We focus on designing and operating highways and transportation assets that improve the quality of life in the communities in which we operate.<\/p>\n Aleatica and iRAP share the common goal of improving people’s lives by contributing to the reduction of deaths and injuries associated with road events and to foster a multidisciplinary dialogue between the public sector, private sector and civil society associations that will lead to better decision making in road safety, to generate tangible improvements in highway safety and to mitigate the economic and social costs derived from accidents. We are delighted to strengthen our partnership today in support of the commitments and objectives of the Global Road Safety Decade of Action Plan 2021-2030,” Diaz said.<\/p>\n iRAP and Aleatica Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding<\/a> in November last year to work together to reduce Mexico\u2019s road injury burden through the organization of projects and programmes to increase road safety.<\/p>\n This partnership is already underway and includes activities such as advocacy with key stakeholders to drive demand for road safety standards aligned with\u00a0Global Road Safety Targets 3 and 4<\/a>; iRAP is a registered charity with a vision for a world free of high-risk roads, influencing road infrastructure safety in more than 170 countries. iRAP and its partners work with the United Nations, World Health Organisation, governments, development banks, mobility clubs, industry, road safety NGOs and research organisations to provide evidence-based tools, training and support to help them make their roads safe. iRAP\u2019s road safety Star Rating Methodology is free to use and provides a simple and objective measure of the level of safety which is \u2018built-in\u2019 to the road for vehicle occupants, motorcyclists, bicyclists and pedestrians.
