{"id":5905,"date":"2025-10-14T10:55:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-13T23:55:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.temp.irap-dev.org\/safer-roads-under-spotlight-at-traffic-chile\/"},"modified":"2026-04-30T15:06:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T05:06:11","slug":"safer-roads-under-spotlight-at-traffic-chile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irap.org\/es\/safer-roads-under-spotlight-at-traffic-chile\/","title":{"rendered":"La seguridad vial, bajo la lupa en Traffic Chile"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>iRAP Global Projects Director Julio Urzua recently joined over 300 decisions-makers at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congresotraffic.cl\/\">Traffic Chile 2025<\/a> in Santiago, presenting a solutions focus to road infrastructure safety through use of the iRAP methodology and tools.<\/p>\n<p>The conference organised by Mutual de Seguridad from 30 September to 1 October, aimed to promote the exchange of knowledge, showcase recent advances, integrate innovative technologies, and generate proposals to address current and future road safety challenges in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Session themes focussed on governance and public policies in road safety, global trends and lessons learned, predictive technologies and systems applied to transportation, sustainable mobility and safe infrastructure, and citizen participation in the construction of a new road culture.<\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">Among the authorities present were the\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"auto\">Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Juan Carlos Mu\u00f1oz<\/span><span dir=\"auto\">\u00a0, el\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"auto\">Undersecretary of Transport, Jorge Daza<\/span><span dir=\"auto\">, el\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"auto\">Superintendent of Social Security (s), Patricia Soto<\/span><span dir=\"auto\">\u00a0, el\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"auto\">Executive Secretary of CONASET,\u00a0<\/span><a title=\"Interview with Luz Infante, executive secretary of CONASET\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ceadechile.cl\/comunicacion\/entrevistas\/375-entrevista-a-luz-infante-secretaria-ejecutiva-de-la-conaset\" target=\"_self\"><span dir=\"auto\">Luz Renata Infante Acevedo<\/span><\/a><span dir=\"auto\">\u00a0, y el\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"auto\">President of Copsa Chile, Gloria Hutt<\/span><span dir=\"auto\">. The event was led by the General Manager of Mutual de Seguridad,\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"auto\">Felipe Bunster Echenique<\/span><span dir=\"auto\">, together with\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"auto\">H\u00e9ctor Jaramillo<\/span><span dir=\"auto\">\u00a0y\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"auto\">Luis Alberto Stuven Hurtado.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>De acuerdo a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/es\/safety-insights-explorer\/\">Explorador de informaci\u00f3n sobre seguridad de iRAP<\/a>, lograr el Objetivo 4 de la ONU de m\u00e1s de 75% de viajes en carreteras de 3 estrellas o mejores para todos los usuarios de la carretera en Chile para 2030 salvar\u00e1 un estimado de 372 vidas cada a\u00f1o, y 661,727 muertes y lesiones durante los 20 a\u00f1os de vida de los tratamientos de carreteras, con un beneficio econ\u00f3mico de USD$2.1 mil millones \u2013 $6.60 por cada $1 gastado.<\/p>\n<p>Partner-led iRAP activity has already assessed 10,702 km of roads and designs, and 13 schools in Chile, influencing the safety of US$27 million of road infrastructure investment.
