The session included hands-on use of tools that can help achieve UN Global Road Safety Performance Target 3, including the newly released enhanced <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/es\/star-rating-for-designs\/\">Valoraci\u00f3n por estrellas para dise\u00f1os<\/a> Web App. Dominic Waterhouse, Civil Engineer from Arup Perth shared the Tonkin Highway Extension Project Case Study.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Designs-Practical-Training-scaled-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Designs Practical Training\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Designs-Practical-Training-3-scaled-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Designs Practical Training 3\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The Ten Step Plan for Safer Road Infrastructure (Hosted by iRAP, IRF and PIARC)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>El <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/es\/2020\/02\/ten-step-plan-for-safer-road-infrastructure-resource-document-available\/\">Plan de diez pasos para una infraestructura vial m\u00e1s segura<\/a> was produced by the United Nations Road Safety Collaboration (UNRSC) partners to support countries seeking to improve road infrastructure safety. It provides a framework to build the institutional capacity, partnerships and regulatory framework in countries. Tanzania was the first nation in the world to implement the Ten Step Plan, and with the support of a grant from the UNRSF, local and international partners will soon begin a second Ten Step Plan project in Senegal. The Plan offers a template that can be adopted by any country and implemented in a way that matches the specific local context and needs. See the session programme and speakers <a href=\"https:\/\/irf2024.irfofficial.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/IRF_World-Congress_2024-Ten_Step_Plan_Special_Session.pdf\">aqu\u00ed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>High-level Roundtable: Shaping the Future of Road Designs for Safe and Sustainable Mobility (Hosted by iRAP and IRF)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) establecen la meta de reducir a la mitad las muertes y lesiones por accidentes de tr\u00e1nsito a nivel mundial para 2030. El dise\u00f1o seguro de las carreteras ser\u00e1 fundamental para alcanzar esta meta y lograr una infraestructura m\u00e1s segura, sostenible y resiliente. El Plan Mundial para la D\u00e9cada de Acci\u00f3n sobre la Seguridad Vial recomienda realizar sistemas de calificaci\u00f3n por estrellas y auditor\u00edas de seguridad vial en todos los dise\u00f1os para garantizar un est\u00e1ndar m\u00ednimo de tres estrellas o superior para todos los usuarios de la v\u00eda, haciendo hincapi\u00e9 en la necesidad de gestionar la velocidad y realizar inversiones. Esta mesa redonda reunir\u00e1 a l\u00edderes en el desarrollo de infraestructura vial para compartir mejores pr\u00e1cticas, estrategias y proyectos en curso, as\u00ed como obst\u00e1culos y oportunidades para mejorar la seguridad en el dise\u00f1o de carreteras a nivel mundial.
