{"id":5046,"date":"2024-10-17T22:46:22","date_gmt":"2024-10-17T11:46:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.temp.irap-dev.org\/shaanxi-mountain-road-safety-project-wins-irf-global-award\/"},"modified":"2026-05-05T11:25:28","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T01:25:28","slug":"shaanxi-mountain-road-safety-project-wins-irf-global-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irap.org\/es\/shaanxi-mountain-road-safety-project-wins-irf-global-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Shaanxi Mountain Road Safety Project wins IRF Global Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Cr\u00e9dito de la imagen: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/international-road-federation\/albums\/72177720321308429\/\">Federaci\u00f3n Internacional de Carreteras<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>El <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adb.org\/\">Banco Asi\u00e1tico de Desarrollo (BAD)<\/a>, Departamento de Transporte de la Provincia de Shaanxi, el <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/es\/\">Programa Internacional de Evaluaci\u00f3n de Carreteras (iRAP)<\/a>, and the China Road Assessment Program (ChinaRAP) at the Research Institute of Highway (RIOH) are honoured to announce the life-saving Shaanxi Mountain Road Safety Demonstration Project has received a prestigious International Road Federation (IRF) global award.<\/p>\n<p>Presented yesterday in Istanbul, the project was awarded IRF\u2019s Rural Roads and Mobility Award, recognising its significant contribution to road safety in the mountainous province and impressive collaboration among government agencies, private enterprises, and civil society in achieving sustainable road development.<\/p>\n<p>El Proyecto de Demostraci\u00f3n de Seguridad Vial en las Zonas Monta\u00f1osas de Shaanxi ha logrado resultados notables en materia de seguridad vial: las mejoras en las infraestructuras de 850 km de carreteras principales y rurales han dado lugar a una reducci\u00f3n de 331 muertes y 531 heridos, lo que supone un ahorro estimado de 32 vidas y 868 heridos al a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p>El porcentaje de carreteras evaluadas que cumplen la norma de seguridad global de 3 estrellas o m\u00e1s aument\u00f3 en un 52%.<\/p>\n<p>Las mejoras de infraestructura incluyeron realineaciones de carreteras, medidas extensas de protecci\u00f3n contra ca\u00eddas de rocas y estabilidad de taludes, la adici\u00f3n de arcenes pavimentados, barreras de seguridad, l\u00edmites de velocidad reducidos, medidas de calmado de tr\u00e1fico y cruces peatonales.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, m\u00e1s de 200 profesionales participaron en capacitaci\u00f3n sobre dise\u00f1o y gesti\u00f3n de seguridad vial, mientras que 2.400 miembros de la comunidad participaron en actividades de educaci\u00f3n sobre seguridad.<\/p>\n<p>Rebecca Stapleton, Senior Transport Specialist at the ADB said, \u201cWe are delighted to see the project recognised with an IRF Award today.\u00a0 The Shaanxi Provincial Government requested ADB financing support to upgrade trunk and rural roads to improve road safety, increase access and reduce poverty. We\u2019re really proud of the significant safety impact it has had for the local communities in Shaanxi and the replicable model it sets for other provinces and countries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Greg Smith, Director Global del Programa de iRAP, se\u00f1al\u00f3: \u201cUna caracter\u00edstica clave del proyecto de Shaanxi es su enfoque principal en la seguridad como parte de esta inversi\u00f3n en infraestructura a gran escala.
