{"id":4805,"date":"2024-06-17T03:33:15","date_gmt":"2024-06-16T17:33:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.temp.irap-dev.org\/press-release-oas-general-secretariat-supports-road-safety-to-save-lives-across-the-americas\/"},"modified":"2024-06-17T03:33:15","modified_gmt":"2024-06-16T17:33:15","slug":"press-release-oas-general-secretariat-supports-road-safety-to-save-lives-across-the-americas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irap.org\/es\/press-release-oas-general-secretariat-supports-road-safety-to-save-lives-across-the-americas\/","title":{"rendered":"Comunicado de prensa: La Secretar\u00eda General de la OEA apoya la seguridad vial para salvar vidas en las Am\u00e9ricas."},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oas.org\/en\/media_center\/press_release.asp?sCodigo=E-037\/24\">Comunicado de prensa de la Organizaci\u00f3n de los Estados Americanos (OEA): 13 de junio de 2024<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>La Secretar\u00eda General de la Organizaci\u00f3n de los Estados Americanos (OEA) se suma al llamamiento internacional para movilizar recursos destinados a construir carreteras m\u00e1s seguras y mejorar las existentes, a fin de garantizar la seguridad de los pueblos de las Am\u00e9ricas.<\/p>\n<p>En concreto, la OEA est\u00e1 alentando a que los ministros de Transporte y Salud asuman compromisos ambiciosos y orientados a la acci\u00f3n que puedan ser compartidos por los ministros de Transporte y Salud en la pr\u00f3xima 4.\u00aa Conferencia Ministerial Mundial sobre Seguridad Vial, que ser\u00e1 organizada por la OMS y el Gobierno de Marruecos en febrero de 2025, para cumplir con el Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible 3.6: \u201cPara 2030, reducir a la mitad el n\u00famero de muertes y lesiones a nivel mundial causadas por accidentes de tr\u00e1nsito\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Los accidentes de tr\u00e1fico son la principal causa de muerte entre los j\u00f3venes de 5 a 24 a\u00f1os. Se estima que cada a\u00f1o mueren 143\u00a0000 personas y m\u00e1s de 9\u00a0000\u00a0000 sufren lesiones que les cambian la vida en accidentes de tr\u00e1fico en Am\u00e9rica, con un coste anual estimado para la econom\u00eda de la regi\u00f3n de 1,4 billones de d\u00f3lares estadounidenses o 4,71 billones de d\u00f3lares del PIB anual.<\/p>\n<p>Reconociendo la urgencia de alcanzar la meta de un est\u00e1ndar global de 3 estrellas o superior para todos los usuarios de la v\u00eda p\u00fablica para 2030, con un retorno de la inversi\u00f3n estimado de $8 por cada $1 invertido en infraestructura vial, la Secretar\u00eda General de la OEA alienta la movilizaci\u00f3n de financiamiento basado en resultados, apropiado, proveniente de fuentes nacionales, internacionales, de bancos de desarrollo y del sector privado.
