Cricket lovers will be thrilled to hear that iRAP<\/a> and the Road Safety Foundation UK (RSF<\/a>) are road safety partners of the 2021 Road Safety World Series<\/a> to bring awareness to the importance of eliminating high-risk roads<\/a> to save lives.<\/p>\n The partnership sees the iRAP and RSF logos featured on the #EnglandLegends<\/a> helmets and uniforms, seen by an impressive 1.2 billion cricket fans around the globe as the Road Safety Series is screened from India.<\/p>\n The England Legends team won their first match against Bangladesh Legends on Sunday led by Captain Kevin Pietersen, with Owais Shah, Philip Mustard, Monty Panesar, Nick Compton, Kabir Ali, Sajid Mahmood, James Tredwell, Chris Schofield, Jonathan Trott, Ryan Sidebottom, Usman Afzaal, Matthew Hoggard and James Tindall.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_2,1_2″ _builder_version=”4.6.6″ _module_preset=”default”][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.6.6″ _module_preset=”default”][et_pb_image src=”https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Inkedworld-series-2_LI.jpg” title_text=”Inkedworld series 2_LI” align=”center” _builder_version=”4.6.6″ _module_preset=”default”][\/et_pb_image][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.6.6″ _module_preset=”default”][et_pb_image src=”https:\/\/irap.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Inkedworld-series-4_LI.jpg” title_text=”Inkedworld series 4_LI” align=”center” _builder_version=”4.6.6″ _module_preset=”default”][\/et_pb_image][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.6.6″ _module_preset=”default”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.6.6″ _module_preset=”default”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.6.6″ _module_preset=”default”]<\/p>\n The England Legends will next meet India Legends \u2013 featuring world-famous Sachin Tendulkar \u2013 on Tuesday 9 March.<\/p>\n England games can be seen on Tuesday 9 March (India vs England), Thursday 11 (England vs South Africa), Sunday 14 (Sri Lanka vs England), Tuesday 16 (England vs West Indies) and (hopefully) the semis and finals on 17, 19 and 21 March.<\/p>\n The\u00a0Road Safety World Series\u00a0<\/a>(also known as\u00a0Unacademy Road Safety World Series) will run from 5-21 March and\u00a0is a\u00a0T20<\/a>\u00a0cricket<\/a>\u00a0competition organised by the Road Safety Cell of\u00a0Maharashtra<\/a> to raise awareness about road safety.\u00a0The series features notable retired players from\u00a0India<\/a>,\u00a0England<\/a>,\u00a0Sri Lanka<\/a>,\u00a0West Indies<\/a>,\u00a0South Africa <\/a>and\u00a0Bangladesh<\/a>.\u00a0Former India captain\u00a0Sunil Gavaskar\u00a0is the commissioner of the series, while\u00a0Sachin Tendulkar\u00a0is the brand ambassador.<\/p>\n The partnership opportunity arose by chance: the England team had not expected to join the tournament, but Australia dropped out because of Covid so England Legends stepped in at the last moment.\u00a0 iRAP and the Road Safety Foundation charities were not charged for the high-profile branding as a result.<\/p>\n iRAP CEO Rob McInerney said, “iRAP and RSF are delighted to bring the two countries of England and India<\/a> together in a partnership for the Road Safety World Series. It’s an important initiative combining the loves of road safety and cricket to spread important awareness and the message that lives can, and must, be saved with safer roads, speeds, vehicles and behaviours.<\/p>\n “In terms of safer roads alone, achieving UN Targets 3 and 4<\/a> by 2030 will see 450,000 lives a year saved around the world.
