Our development partners like the Global Road Safety Facility<\/a> and all of the multi-lateral development banks.\u00a0 Our Star Rating for Schools<\/a> sponsor FedEx<\/a> and global partner 3M<\/a> iRAP is proud to support them in driving change that is saving lives every day,\u201d Mr McInerney said.<\/p>\n In a released video statement<\/a> to winners, HRH Prince Michael of Kent said, \u201cYour achievements are significant, not just because they\u2019re innovative, but because they\u2019ve actually saved lives and will continue to do so in the future.<\/p>\n \u201cYour commitment will certainly help to achieve the ambitious targets being set for the Second Decade of Action for Road Safety and your programme will provide encouragement for others,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Rob said, \u201cWe look forward to supporting countries in the Second Decade of Action to achieve the SDGs and UN Global Road Safety Performance Targets 3 and 4<\/a> – for all new roads to be 3-star or better and more than 75 per cent of travel to be on the equivalent of 3-star or better for all road users by 2030,\u201d he said<\/p>\n Achieving the target for more than 75 per cent of travel on 3-star or better roads for all road users by 2030 will save 450,000 lives per year with $8 of savings for every $1 invested.\u00a0 The investment will save lives, save the health system and create jobs ensuring a win-win-win for all.<\/p>\n \u201cHigh impact locally-led road assessment programmes with local experts will be key,\u201d Rob added, \u201cand iRAP stands ready to support countries with tools like Risk Mapping<\/a>, Star Rating<\/a>, Investment Plans<\/a>, Star Rating for Schools<\/a>, Star Rating for Designs<\/a> and our Training and Accreditation Programme<\/a> to build the local skills needed for life-saving success.\u201d<\/p>\n Due to COVID travel restrictions, the 2020 Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards will be presented in a series of webinars aimed at promoting
