Si bien esto es positivo para la movilidad y el crecimiento econ\u00f3mico, una red de carreteras m\u00e1s grande y transitada genera graves preocupaciones de seguridad. Cada a\u00f1o, alrededor de 1,3 millones de personas pierden la vida en siniestros de tr\u00e1nsito, seg\u00fan la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud. Un n\u00famero a\u00fan mayor, entre 20 y 50 millones de personas, sufren lesiones no mortales en accidentes en nuestras carreteras. Para abordar este problema, la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas se ha fijado el ambicioso objetivo de reducir a la mitad el n\u00famero mundial de muertes y lesiones por siniestros de tr\u00e1nsito para 2030.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alcanzando las estrellas<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Para alcanzar este objetivo, los Estados Miembros de la ONU han acordado <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/violence_injury_prevention\/road_traffic\/12GlobalRoadSafetyTargets.pdf\">12 objetivos mundiales de seguridad vial<\/a>, que incluyen asegurar que todas las carreteras nuevas se construyan con un est\u00e1ndar de tres estrellas o superior (o que alcancen est\u00e1ndares t\u00e9cnicos para todos los usuarios de la v\u00eda que tengan en cuenta la seguridad vial). Cuanto mayor sea la calificaci\u00f3n por estrellas \u2014medida en una escala del uno al cinco\u2014, m\u00e1s segura es la carretera.<\/p>\n<p>La calificaci\u00f3n de una carretera depende de una variedad de factores relacionados con la naturaleza de la misma. Por ejemplo, una carretera de cuatro estrellas probablemente tenga barreras de seguridad a los lados y en la mediana, y tenga cruces con v\u00edas de acceso estilo autopista. En contraste, las carreteras con puntuaciones bajas tienden a tener objetos fijos peligrosos cerca de la carretera, cruces frecuentes y sin protecci\u00f3n contra el tr\u00e1fico en sentido contrario, como una barrera central.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/es\/how-we-can-help\/\">Seg\u00fan iRAP<\/a>, el riesgo de que una persona sufra la muerte o lesiones graves se reduce en un 50% con cada mejora en la calificaci\u00f3n por estrellas de una carretera, lo que las convierte en una herramienta valiosa para medir e interpretar la seguridad vial.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Datos en movimiento<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Al determinar la calificaci\u00f3n por estrellas de las carreteras en su red, las autoridades de carreteras saben d\u00f3nde tomar medidas tangibles para mejorar tanto la calidad como la seguridad de las carreteras.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tomtom.com\/\">TomTom<\/a> ofrece datos y servicios cartogr\u00e1ficos de alta calidad y uniformes a nivel mundial para respaldar la modelizaci\u00f3n iRAP, lo que facilita a las autoridades viarias la evaluaci\u00f3n y la mejora de la seguridad de su red. Por cada kil\u00f3metro recorrido, un veh\u00edculo MoMa captura aproximadamente 3.800 millones de p\u00edxeles, lo que resulta en im\u00e1genes de alta calidad.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Acreditaci\u00f3n iRAP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Los datos de TomTom MoMa se han integrado ahora con herramientas de software que garantizan una codificaci\u00f3n de alta calidad de los atributos iRAP. Este enfoque, totalmente acreditado por iRAP, garantiza que los equipos de codificaci\u00f3n puedan registrar de forma eficiente los atributos de las carreteras utilizando el MoMa de TomTom.
